	About some of the smileys used here... Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

There are a few smileys on this board that I'd like to use on another board. Now, while I know that most of the smileys here are public domain, I also know that some have been made by the posters here. And since I don't know which ones are PD and which are made by the members, I figured that it would be the best thing to ask first.

So, are there any smileys among the following ones that I should get a permission for to use on my board from some poster, or am I free to just grab them all?

Stefu made most of the unique smilies here, and he put them all in a zip file somewhere. I use most of them on my forum, and I think I give him credit somewhere on my site...

Regarding the smilies — is there a certain plug-in needed to view animation on the ones with animation? I can see all the smilies, but the animation no longer works.

I have the latest version of IE for Macintosh.

Gate - maybe it's a bug.

But go to "Tools > Internet Options" then to "Advanced" tag. There find "Animation" and make sure to check a V near "Play Animations".

Or check if you have some kind of anti-banner-adds programs. Mine offers the option to prevent animations from playing.

Hmm ... the "animate gifs" is checked, along with "looping" and I don't have any anti-pop-up ad software. You know what's really silly? The animations work just fine under NS 4.08! An ancient browser compared to IE 5.1.2 (the latest for the Macintosh).

yes , "smilies" , there are at least one thousand in the world , so why not use some more here , ...

it would be nice to have that is like a walking guy with his hands in his pockets , ...

It's all in an ancient thread here- at least 6 months old= I remembe we were voting on which smilies should be allowed in- stefu was doing nationalistic smilies, some others (in the OT) and I think Gramphos did a few as well?

If ads have animation, they seem to work. But smiley animations, gifs and whatnot do not work. It's something with IE, because Netscape 4.08 shows the animations just fine. I have IE 5.1.4, which is the latest version for the Macintosh.

I specifically remember Stefu designing the smiley.

I'm also 100% sure that either Stefu or another poster designed the one.

The two others I can't help you with.
