	Goodbye from Franses. Replacements needed Inflate your Upload Space

Dear friends,

In a couple of weeks I will leave for holiday. I decided this to be a good time to stop playing CTP PBEM. I would never do that (most of the games I play in, I did so for well over a year) if not that almost all of the games died a "sudden death" or became so slow that if they are continued in this pace I will be long dead before they end (so I can as well end it now ).

Add to that my addiction to CIV III for many months now, the expected arrival of CIV III multiplayer this fall and you have all the reasons why I decided to leave.

I like to thank all of my opponents in the last two years. It was great fun playing with you and exchanging ideas on this message board. If you ever decide to transfer to CIV III, I sure hope we will meet again (in fact several of you have already sent me invitations to play as soon as multiplayer is live and I am very much looking forward to that).

PS: I will keep playing the games and guarantee to play my turns, generally well within 24 hours until I go on holiday or a replacement is found. Whichever comes first.

The games I play in and may need a replacement are:

Giant Bird
A great game played on a huge map. The only game I currently play that is still running smoothly. I had an awkward starting position but terraformed a lot and slowly worked my way up to position 3 out of 6. There is a great chance that the current number 1 (Birdman) will win the game but it has been and still is a great game to play and you certainly still have a slim chance to even win it. So if you feel like taking over my position in this game you are in for quite some fun.

Team spirit
A team game. I have a great partner in this game (Birdman) and the game is still running, although a bit slow. I think I am number 3 out of 8 in this game but the numbers 1 and 2 are from the same team and are quite a bit ahead. Nonetheless, if you do not mind a game that is running one turn a week on average this is a game I recommend. Of course, whether you can take over my position in this game also depends on my partner Birdman whom I already notified of my decision and might have a partner in mind already.

Civil war
Two teams of 4 players compete in this game. It started quite some months ago and we are now in turn 18. So it really is a slow game. My civ is in a reasonable starting position. I think I am last in the current ranking (but that is always the case with my style of play and no reason to worry about at all).

Midway
An interesting game that is in turn 128 or so. I am number 1 of 6 in this game and has no doubt my civ will win the game. Unfortunately it is one of the games that were struck by sudden death so a replacement may not be needed.

Teamhorses
A team gaim I play with Darth Viper as my partner. An interesting game where we are working ourselves to the top. I think I rank 2 out of 6 in this game now. We were able to eliminate the partner of number 1 in the game. This to is a game struck by sudden death and a replacement may not be needed.

Good bye Franses! Great playing with you. I purchased Civ III but now I can't find the damned thing! (I think the cat ate it.) Maybe I will join you in the Play the World version soon. Interest has waned tremendously in CTP.

It had been a pleasure playing with you Franses
We had some good time in Team Spirit as opponents and lot of fun trying to make it as real as possible conducting some interesting role playing and diplomacy, even for a sort time
You have been not only a good player but a nice person as well so I will miss you from our games.

Well, not for long as I am planning on joinning 2-3 CivIII PBEM games when "Play the World" will be available on the shelves and since 2 of the 3 pains in the ass will be gone (lack of unit stacking and limited variety in terraforming)

I will not write a long tale - 'cause I'm sure we will meet again - preferable in a CIV III PBEM-game.

You have been a great ally in TeamSpirit - and the first long time in the Midway game.

It's bad, if two good games dies. Pls forward your last copy of both Midway and TeamHorses to me together with the newest playerlist. Then I'll try getting the games up running again with some new crewmembers.

As for CivilWar?! Well, can't say I like that game - didn't like the starting positions of the allies were that close to each other.

It is good to know that you all plan to transfer to CTP if multiplayer arrives. There will be PBEM functionality. Expected arrival date somewhere this fall.
