opening PC saves on a Mac? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

A friend and I are trying to share save games (start from the same saves). The problem is, he has a mac and I have a PC.

Now, I was able to open his saves, but he can't open mine. I'm guessing this has something to do with the fact that Macs dont determine file type by extension... but does anyone know a way around this?

Put an end to popups!

To open a Windows-saved game on a Macintosh, you have to change its 'type' and 'creator'. This can be done in many freeware/shareware utilities, but not with software that comes stock with a Mac.

The type/creator codes are GAMd and Civ3 (case sensitive).
