We have discovered the Iroquois.

Their location is still unkown, but we found an American-Indian Warrior in the mountain range south of France.

When we found them, they were actually behind us in techs.
We succesfully traded to get pottery however. We gave them Masonry for Pottery and 15 gold in 2670 B.C. . The reasoning behind this was they were going to meet the French or Americans soon enough, so it would be better if we gave them Masonry than if another nation did.

So, now in the tech race, We are One tech ahead of the Iroquois (they dont have Warrior code) and we are two behind the Amercians and French (they both have Mysticism and Alphabet, which we could not trade for at any time).

Through some use of the F4 screen, we could figure out the French bought Mysticism from the Americans in roughly 2850 B.C. They used their entire treasury for this trade.

Currently, we have 43 gold and no GPT
America has 97 gold
France has 5 gold (and presumed 5 GPT)
Iroquois have 12 gold.

America are Annoyed with us (we have yet to trade with them)
France are Polite with us (which makes bedtime so much more... err, yeah, we traded with them)
Iroquois are Polite with us (we traded with them too... no funny idears)

All of our neighbors have 2 cities (including capitol)

So I was talking with this Hiawatha guy.. and I was all like "So what is this place?" and hes all like "Canada".. and I'm all like "So what does that mean?" and hes all like "The village" and Im all like "So.. are you.. ya know...." and hes all like "Huh".. and this went on for a long time, and my secretary did his rounds. This is what he found.

FRANCE
1:The French still think we are a backwards people
2:The French military is still bigger than ours
3: The French look down upon our small culture status (and they might have reason to)
4:The French fear our Warrior
5: The French have Warriors

AMERICA
1: The Yanks think we are a backwards people
2:The American Army outnumbers ours
3: The Amercians have better culture than ours (or so they think.. or so we think?)
4: The Americans fear our Warrior
5: The Amercians have Warriors

Iroquois
1:The Iroquois think they are our Scientific equals
2: The Iroquois military outnumbers ours.
3:The Iroquois are spitting on our culture
4: The Iroquois fear our Warriors
5: The Iroquois have Warriors
6: Our people are unimpressed by Iroquois culture too.

Just one note about culture: the other civs have more culture because we did not build our capital the first turn. One culture point more to be precise
The Iroqouis maybe have also built their capitol the second turn. Therefore they have equal culture.

If you raze a city, does the civ that it belonged to lose the culture in that city?

No. A civ loses culture only when completely destroyed.

I don't believe a civ can go backwards in culture in any way. Once they've gained that culture, it stays with them.
