Now Ipswich may be possible, as I have been running a friend to and from Colchester a lot.

Now late July, London? Hmmm, I'll 'see what I can do'...

Ipswich would be an absolute nightmare for me. Anyone bar Starchild who can get to Ipswich can get to London 90 minutes quicker in any case...

I could drive to Ipswich in a reasonable time, provided the A12 was empty. Much more likely than the M1 being clear.

And what is there in Ipswich that could possibly make it worth an additional two train changes and 2hrs?, not to mention the extra cost?

Near the coast, in Suffolk. 50 miles East by SouthEast of Cambridge.

Can't think of any reason to go there.

Oh no, I am not seriously suggesting a meeting in Ipswich, but I will have to meet up with Starchild when he is over and I pass through the place. I would prefer it to be a city that is easy to get to. And the easiest cities to get to are the cities in Yorkshire (Hull, Leeds, York, Sheffield), Manchester and London. Any others are a pain to get to, including Birmingham and Bristol.

So London seems like the best bet, I may even try and coincide it with a trip to Oxford and take the coach down from there, allowing me to have a tipple or two

The most weird thing was I was in deepest Wiltshire a good few years ago, and I thought they'd all be drinking cider and sounding very 'west country'. They were, except they all drank Carling. It was most surreal...

A wedding? They're boring, horrible things, especially church weddings full of sanctimonious religious claptrap. I don't mind the reception, all that food The evening discos are usually more than I can bear...old codgers dancing along to Steps and S Club 7 and to round it all of, they all start smooching to 'Dancing Queen' by Abba at the end. Enough to make me want to puke up my guts.

...or you can join the lads in a meeting in London, talking about life and trouble, endulging in highly entertaining conversation and having a wild time...

...but of course, the choice is yours

Well I could make it but it'd cost £13 for the fare, £45 for the opportunity cost as I would otherwise be working, and another £120 for a bodyguard.

Be sure to have a pint of/on me though!

Incidentally, there's another big happening in July. MikeH's debut gig.
