Which Sid Meier games have you played? Full PM-box? Change here!

I've been meaning to do this ever since we've obtain more options.

This isn't if you owned or have them, it is just if you've played them. This is because many people have gotten some of the older games from warez sites and might have since deleted them.

MtG is a Sid Meier game... never knew that. I never liked it too much, I wonder if I had taken up to it seriously had I known this.

Same here, have played about half of them but haven't even heard of the rest.

Conflict in Vietnam, Crusade in Europe, and Decision in the Desert and the only ones you should be excused of not knowing. All the other early ones were groundbreaking games that started subgenres.

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Red Storm Rising was a Sid game? I know Microprose did it, but I didn't think Sid had anything to do with it... oh well, too lazy to look it up now.

Fun game though. I always liked it how on the easy difficulty levels against a convoy, when they wouldn't send helicopters after you, to basically surface (go to 10 m deep, have periscope up 50 meters in the air), have active radar blaring, and run around at flank speed firing Tomahawks at things.

It was fun how I got better at the game, too. First time my rank was Mr. for screwing up the game but killing the boomers, and I eventually got better (although I did get the worst ending once!) and started winning the war, even on the higher difficulty levels. I found it amusing how much the war depended on me- I'd advance forward, wipe out Russian groups, see us winning, then head back to resupply in Scotland... and watch as the Soviets got ahead of the game... and then I started killing htings again, and they'd be thrown back from Paris and be on the retreat again and... ah, it was amusing.

Hell, I'm not really a gamer, so most games I've played are Civ games, and in fact every game I've played is a strategy.

Civ, Civ 2, CivNet (last year ), Civ 3, SMAC. Don't even plan on buying SimGolf, and will play SMAC 2.

Yeah but how much do you really think Sid had to do with TOT. I mean he didn't make Civ II and then an expansion? Sid would not have touched the code of that thing with a six foot long pole.

Not the card game, but there is a computer version of it where you wander around this little map and duel various opponents. The goal of the game is to defeat the 5 masters in each of the colors. There's a Red Dragon who uses primarily red cards and so on. You have to duel your way through the masters' castles to get to them.

Yeah, his flight sims were revolutionary to the industry and gave birth to Microprose. His early work was the standards. Why do you think he was able to put his name on the box of his later work?

Sid Meier was contracted in by the developers at a late stage to help give the 1 player "campaign" part of M:tG some life. The rules, concepts and structures for "planeswalkers" were already in place. It hardly qualifies as a Meier game in the sense the others do.

I played Civ, Civ2, Civ3, RRT, Pirates! (a game that NEED to be remade), SMAC, Colonization and SimGolf (as Zop said, great fun for three days).

But we have to remember that Civ2, Col and SMAC are Brian Reynolds's work, and Civ3 is Jeff and Soren's baby.

Sid was gone from MPS at the time of ToT's release. You can argue it should be in the poll, but all other choices deserve to be up there more.

No I didn't. I left out expansions on purpose. He was also more into Dinos! at the time to be bothered with SMAC/X.

He had the same level of input in MtG as SoS. I put it in because he had a significant part in poth.

I played the seven with most votes: Pirates!, RRT, CivI, Colonization, CivII, SMAC, CivIII. Given the fact that I don't like pure war games and rarely play sport games (and if so, mostly sport manager), that's quite a high ratio.

How did it work? Did it produce music that seemed like it could be songs? I have always been interested, wish a PC release would happen...

I read somewhere that basically said that if Sid had not come in on this project it would never have been finished. The changes he made allowed the game to be playable and complete.

Actually it works much like many of the music makers of today. The music could easily be songs. Some good, some bad.

It still would have been released, but it just would have sucked horribly and there probably wouldn't have been many expansion packs, if any.
