Tired of ads?

OK, so maybe I was being a bit evil. Maybe we could keep America and France as very small minor states where we can get any gold or technology that we may require in the future. Annihilating people damages our reputation, but that doesn’t stop us just annihilating one of them and controlling the other, so we can still use our armies to full effect (again).

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

We will likely keep them for at least 20 turns, after that, well, we will just have to see how things look at that point and how the masses feel/vote.

The immediate plan is for taking two cities, then suing for tech, cash, and possibly a city. We may not even make war on the second nation, we must see how the vote shakes at that point. We may even have new government by then, who knows? When does this term end, anyway?

Enter the AD-FREE zone

Yeah, I suppose this is a democracy. I am sure that we will all see sense and that way we could become the biggest regional civ, perhaps the most powerful in the world, which is the ultimate aim, right?

Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Sooo, judging from the information revealed by today's turn, Washington still looks like a likely target. Rich surrounding lands, suitable for supporting a relocated capital. And a nearby mountainbase for our attack force.

We don't have the wheel yet. There might be horses, but we can't see them yet.

The best approach Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

Assuming the Americans are the target, the approaches to Washington should be favourable from the East.

By the time the archers are completed, Washington's borders should have expanded (they will at most 26 turns from now, judging from Apolyton's progress). That means that the declaration of war will have to be 2 turns prior to our force reaching the outskirts of the city (at least) if we approach on the diagonal (shortest, least warning).

If we approach from the south this would have us on the other side of a river from Washington (not good). From the East we should be able to move from Banana HQ, East of New York and approach from the Eastern diagonal. We can save time by moving the stack adjacent to New York enroute. The Americans will demand we move them, which we will of course on the following turn... closer to Washington.

The Eastern approach would mean that the first archers cannot do very much exploring of the gap between us, the Americans and the French (the dreaded Notylopian triangle). That's OK. I've heard that archers lose there nerve there anyway. Better left to warriors. Apparently all of our scouts to date have vanished mysteriously. Must have, we still don't know what is in the triangle.

Perhaps we should consider this soon, since it would effect the movements of our warriors. Perhaps have French warrior hook back down to skirt east of Paris (maybe see Paris on the hill it must be on) and flesh out this territory for us so that we can see cities as the AI builds them there.

It would also help if Coastal warrior continues N then NW to scout out the Eastern approaches to the Americans. It would be a bummer if we send Uber with the troops towards the Eastern Marches only to discover a city blocking our peaceful progress.
