Unfortunately, I cannot commit to turn-chats, so cannot run for things of this nature.

I do have a suggestion, however. I do not think that we should put up candidates just to have one. If someone truly wants that job, great, if not we, as a party, do not need to contest for that position. We could even publicly support a DIA or Independant candidate, thus showing that we can look beyond our party lines for the greater good. Just something to consider.

If there is no one to run against a DIA candidate we should still field a candidate for the sake of democracy. That doesn't mean we can't vote outside the party, but lets just hope for now that we can get as many competent UFC candidates as possible.

I was just suggesting something of a PR move, if you will. The DIA is off and screaming of their "level headed" approach. The problem is that it is working. If we PUBLICALLY support a candidate or even just a plain idea that is against what is viewed as our agenda, we can possibly gain some ground with Independants.

We are being protrayed as people who do not care at all for cultural building, only for Military. We should come out and stress that, while we believe military is the means to secure our position as a world leader, cultural/scientific buildings are a part of that position as well. We will not neglect them.

Very true. I have a feeling this is going to be a very close election. Both candidates are very well qualified. Sn00py would make a very good addition to your group of ambassadors, possibly even the senior ambassador. That way you'll atleast have a qualified person to take over for you if you cant make it to a turn chat.

I can't run for anything because in a week I'll be leaving for UC Irvine for an Astronomy course. I'll be back in a little over a month.

Please remember: That position has nothing to do with the UFC.
If we were to work together on the constitution and legislations you would have to forget UFC and I would forget DIA. That's just judicial business. We need five court members, though.

I am well aware of that. If one reads through most of my posts, they will find that I tend to look very objectively at all things. That is part of the reason I think I would be a good Judge. I can put aside party differences, have often encouraged others to do the same. I was just mentioning it as a reason for NOT running.

I know our party has a lot of competent members, so please run for those open spaces. There are positions for open for City Planner and Public Works. If the UFC gains control of those offices the DIA will be helpless to stop us from marching our Armies all over the world!

Unlike war, which must be carefully planned, I believe science is a here and now sort of thing. If elected minister of science, I will focus on what we need at the moment. Work on a skyscraper can not begin if the foundation is unfinished. If we focus on the present rather than the future, we will be able to make better use of our advances later down the road. If elected, I favor a beeline to the republic in order to boost our science and economy, followed by military research spree. Decimate America to the point of extinction, then offer peace in exchange for every tech they have plus some gtp

If no one else wants to, I would like to put my name forward for the Minister of imperial expansion. Just a few questions: What exactly do the turnchats involve? Do I also have to post my request on the Pre-Elections Thread Mk II? And the Minister for imperial expansion decides where to put the cities and that is all, right? Can I also ask that more people apply for positions since we still dont have enough!

As the minister of Imperial Expansion won't have much work, he isn't required to be in every turnchat (they are hold about 21:00 - 23:00 GMT).
You have to post your candidacy in the pre-election thread MkII, and preferably create a campaign thread to show your program, and discuss with your opponent if any. (In the campaign thread, please post a neutral first post, which will be list all competitors. Your speech would be the second post).

The minister of Imperial Expansion's only work is to decide location of new cities. That's not as much ork as SMC, but it sure is a needed post as soon as we have settlers.
