	Tech whoring project Remove this text

The plan is :

- We buy Iron Working to the French, for 3gpt and 58 gold.
- We sell Iron Working to the Greeks for Mysticism, and as much gold as we can get.
- We sell Iron Working OR Mysticism to the Iroquois, for he Wheel, and probably money.
- We sell our least valuable tech to the Brits for Alphabet, as they don't have any money to buy valuable tech.
All of this will be done current turn, if the poll is voted.

Duration : 3 days, to be ready for next turnchat.

I strongly advise people to vote yes : this way, for a relatively small price, we'll have all techs, we'll be ahead of the Brits and Iroquois, and we'll know the location of Horses and Iron.

I vote yes. I'd like to suggest that we sell Mysticism to the Iroquis and not IW, unless Myst. isn't enough to get The Wheel for some reason. The longer the Iroquis don't have IW, the better, IMO.

I agree with not selling IW to anyone, for as long as we can. No sense in giving them the power of IW. I tend to not sell such techs until it is obvious they can buy it elsewhere soon, or if they have something I want and it is easier to get it that way.

Overall, I don't mind selling techs, just need to be careful with the ones that can bite in the rear later. Esp on this level.

In this instance. I would support the trade of IW for Mysticism because we can use all the edge we can get.

As current Foreign Minister.. i state I love this plan.. as I was absent for a week, i totally endorse this democratic way of making a decision.

Best way it could be done.

Actually, deciding if we'll sell Iron Working or Mysticism to the Iroquois will be Ninot's call, not mine.
I just thought about something : selling Mysticism to persians for money, as the Brits would do it the turn later. What do you think ? (again, this is not my decision field, but I just got the idea)

It is usually a good thing to consider selling it to all on the same turn, depending on the wealth of the other civs. I typically do this myself, unless a civ is poor enough that the other civs won't sell it to him.

Well, if there is a chance that we may lose out on some gold because we didnt give the tech to anyone.. then I think we would be the losers.

We must keep all the civs that are backwater (compared to us) up to date, untill we are the world leaders at least. We can't have higher-up civs trading techs for gold that we will miss out on.

BTW, Spiff, you have done an EXCELENT job at keeping the people updated. I will very surely go along with the deals you have been able to produce to these threads.

I'd agree with selling Mysticism for gold. It's a pretty useless tech, IMHO. (But then, I've never played on Emperor, so I guess the Oracle is more useful with only one content citizen.)

Gaining 3 techs for that price would be great. 4 would be a coup.

Plus, the price will be reduced by however much extra gold we garner from the subsequent trades. Even a better deal.

I am normally against gpt for tech trades at this stage of a game, but this is an opportunity that should not be passed up. It may invlove some risk even. However, our position mandates the use of some calculated risks.

Actually, the price might be higher if we sell mysticism for the wheel to the Iroquois, rather than IW :
Mysticism and The Wheel are currently the same value, but it will devaluate once we have it, so we'll have to throw in money for the Wheel as well.
But it would be a strategic decision, rather than an economic decision.

Since the plan seems to be passing, may i suggest that we have a special turnchat just for the purpose of this trade. That way everybody will have the saved game with the techs already traded BEFORE the main turnchat, and can thus see resources that have been revealed.
