With elections coming up, I am candidate of the DIA party for the postion of the Minister of Public Works. This minister handles the important job of tile improvement, deciding with the suggestions and wants of the other ministers, how our workers should spend their time.
As a little background, befitting my DIA membership, I am a believer in seeking the most production out of every tile and i beleive that extensive tile development must be a priority if we are to build a strong empire rch with trade arrows, shields, and food (and of course, bananas).
I would also seek to start a tradition of long term planning. As we all know, we are formulating various long tem war plans to deal with various possible scenerios: this is good and will help for effective playing. But we also need to be doing this for domestic issues like the building of roads and jungle clearing. Our empire was dealt a poor hand:we shall overcome it, but an important part of this involves some long term and time consuming public works projects that will have to begin and be thought out soon, such as the creation of a system of roads to link the cities we have, and the cities we plan to take. Just like we have Plan Eagle, we need our own 400 year plans for internal development.
So on election day, vote DIA for Public Works! Is the right choice

Sorry if I made a misake

Well, I think it needs to be specific for cities: if we want a city to be a high production center, then mines will have to come first. If such a need is not present, I wolud favor roads first , since the extra trade arrows are always nice. Since I would be part of a government if elected, I wold keep the overall plans of the gov. ahead of any personal preference, though I am more partial to roads than mines on grassland.
I think tha for now, the orders of the Military Commander and the job of Public works won't clash if at all, since we have few workers and they are on long-term assignments. I do think that at this point our workers are too few and too valuable- I would not like them to be placed in harms way at all. Obviously, I also think we need more workers, especially with a new city up and running, so I would like some space made in the build queues of our war plan for a worker, but that's a government decision for whomever the public elects to the cabinet.
