Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

It looks like we have little option. Either we run at a loss and have techs come a little more quickly than the slowest rate, or we run a profit and have all techs except Philosophy come at the max 40 turns.

Unless someone can point out why Philosophy is important right now, it looks like I might have to vote 90%/10%

I think we can buy most of the advances for something like 50 gold, when the time is there, and may be make a nice profit reselling it. For this money we need 6 turns. Why should we do research now? Just let's stockpile money. We can easily buy any new tech and will have plenty of gold left to open embassies and upgrade units.

There's no point to do any own research now. 100% tax, 0% science.

10% science. The decrease in price of buying techs will be worth it, and who knows, we might be first to a tech.

90-10

Why? While we wont ever discover anything directly from it, it means we will have adjusted our economy now rather than later when it's more expensive, to begin research. Eventually we will be putting it between 30 and 50, this makes it so later tha transition will be less painful.

0% Science.

Save our cash. War is now imminent with America, we can negotiate for any tech they get, then buy anything else from elsewhere. Our military will soon need funding as well. Researching at this point in time on Emperor is often a waste of cash, especially in the crowded land we are on.

Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

I was just wonder, would it be worthwhile to raise luxury to make somebody happy(not now, but when we get to size 4). I mean the lower gold vs more production. Just an idea that I've seen and wanted to get feedback on. Personally in my own games I rarely even touch the luxury bar unless I am in demo and at war for a while.
