	civilization.ini file gone after 1.29 upgrade Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

My civilization.ini file was no longer present after I upgraded to 1.29. Didn't notice at first, and since my monitor resolution was set to 1152x864 Civ didn't load (disk spins up then down and that's all she wrote). That's when I realized the ini file was missing. I had a copy of my ini file which I used with the 1.21 patch so I just copied it into my civ directory, and now I'm back up and running, so I'm happy, but:

I have a few questions:
- Why would the ini file be removed?
- Is there some setting(s) in the ini file which would cause problems?
- Is there a key which explains what's in the ini file?

that happened to me too. And my *.ini file had lines in it to make sure it didn't black out when starting up. Damn - maybe it's been replaced by the logfile.txt, although that's actually empty (but that could just be coz I've not played a 1.29f game yet).

I wouldn't worry about it to much. It mainly just keeps track of your preferences etc., so you don't have to keep selecting evrything all the time. Everytime you play, the file gets updated so it will always be current. There's only a few things you might have to enter manually, like video info etc.

No, the .ini file isn't created until you run the game for the first time.
