	SMAC doesn't start Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Hello, I've searched for threads about this problem, but I can't seem to find anything like this.

I can install SMAC, but when I try to run it, nothing happens, I don't get any error-message or anything, but nothing just seems to happen..
But, the weird thing is that, when checking my Alpha Centauri.ini - file, that it just consists of the following:

[Alpha Centauri]


I very much doubt that this is normal
But I also have Win XP running on an AMD Athlon 1.2 Ghz.

Can anyone tell me how I can fix this, please?

Um, thanks, but that doesn't help.

I don't have a Pentium processor.. And I think the problem lies in the Alpha Centauri.ini - file itself as it consists of only two lines..

If I'm not mistaken the .ini file you have right now is just a placement holder - the actual .ini file gets written upon your first save and exit from the game.

try replacing it with this (and remember to name it alphacentauri.ini)

I copied the text and pasted it onto the *.ini file, and it worked.
Kind of odd, since it's normal that it looks like that, but hey, if it works, I'm not complaining
