all three of my sons have played Civ through the years, but none have had the passion for them as have I. My oldest is into Everquest now.
Civ2 and SMAC seem to be held in much higher regard than Civ3 here. Maybe i liked Civ3 more than Civ2 just 'cause it was new when i played it first. By the by, what is the (X) in SMACX ?

yeah the pbems certainly do ebb like the tide

and the stats would really go agaist the initial posts

That's fair; is there a thread where newbie's can go to ask questions of the 'regulars' here, so as to know a bit about who you are? i didn't take the Bio line in the profile seriously, and neither did most of you. there are many things i wonder about site vernacular and mechanics, but i try to be sensitive to the purpose of each thread. As i've read older posts, i'm aware of the purist sentiments toward the games we all love and the same sentiments toward the purpose of the individual threads.
misc. picture thread seemed innocuous i'm not whining. just want to play by the rules.
