Hi,
Looking for some help. Been playing Civ III for a while, and loaded some new game that installed Directx 8.1, and now I can't get Civ III to work (that lame-ass game didn't work, either).
Does anyone know of problems with Civ III & Directx 8.1? Anyone know how I can downgrade to 8.0a?

Oh, I meant to add that the intro movie comes up fine, as does the New Game (initial screen only), Hall of Fame, Preferences, and Audio Preferences, but the Credits come up all jarbled. Don' t know if that helps or not....

Win 2k. I've uninstalled and re-installed the game several times to no avail. ANd I've tried the latest patch, too.
Directx 8.1 may be a red-herring for all I know.
