Which version do you play? Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

This is a simple question, just choose the appropirate option above.....

Are you playing Europa Universalis 1492 - 1792,
or Europa Universalis II ?

Which patches are availible for the version you play?
(and what do they fix, etc.)

And at last: Have you found any interresting addon scenarios, mods, etc. ?

Put an end to popups!

EU2
patch 1.05, fixes too many things to list but the main ones: (that I can remember )

-scenario editor
-if you capture all the provinces of a pagan nation you can annex the entire nation
-less crashes (although I still have some )

interesting scenarios:

EEP: 2 grand campaigns with lots of new events, one historical and one fantasy ( ie events for byzantium after 1453)
http://home.broadpark.no/~havmoe/EU/EEP.htm

MKJ's grand campaign: new events, mainly to make it easier for the ottomans (who were seriously underpowered in the original campaign) and for the netherlands
http://www.europa-universalis.com/f...&threadid=44732

Imperium Francorum: plays from 751-1419, will be released within a week or two I think
http://www.europa-universalis.com/f...&threadid=38502

Age Of Nationalism: 1820-1914, will be released in late august or september

EU2, always fully patched. I tried using the EEP, but it made my games unplayable when attempting to reload them.

EU 2, 1.05...

I find it the patch to be as enjoyable as 1.10 for EU1.

I play EU2 version 1.05 and I can't wait for version 1.06. I've actually never played EU1.

Well, I tried the EU1 tutorial out. (one can borrow EU1 at my local library, but not EU2. You have to pay cash)
The library-EU1 was a norwegian version, and it felt kinda unusual playing a computergame in my own first language.
But the funny Ireland tutorial was the only thing i did!
Overall, the game look very much like EU2, but it had fewer opportunities for the player and the AI to use.
Ok, mostly rules and gameplay-issues had been changed...

The EU1 Turtorial is rather bad, without the right patch it is terrible (since you can not save).

Hm. Everybody here seems to think that EU2 is far superior. I read somewhere that it was almost the same game as EU1. Could someone enlighten me about this?

EU2. It has many small changes which make it a much better game.

Sadly, it shipped riddled with bugs. The wretched centralisation slider bug has still not been fixed.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

EU2 of course is far superior than the first version. I was playing EU1 for more than a year when I bought EU2 (at the release day), and the first GREAT improvement was that you now can play as every nation you want. That was (IMO) tripeling the game fun. Next was the possibility of changing provincial religion, and finally there are 73 years to play until the point where EU1 started. That opened up the great possibility of playing France in its early days, seeing Jeanne dŽArc and of course the union of aragorn and castilia. Furthermore, china now has "inland" areas, there is tibet and most of the south-eastern asia states were added. Summa summarum EU2 is an IMMENSE improvement in nearly everything compared to EU1.

I've only played EU1 - I've never seen EU2 in the shops where I live. I haven't bothered ordering EU2 because there's still plenty of EU1 scenarios I haven't got round to playing.

So is it fair to say there will be no additional patches or an expansion for EU2? It's been almost a year with no new patches and no annoucements of any future releases.

It's a pitty they never bothered to fix multiplayer so that it was actually usable; it seems to be a trend by software companies to shiop games with barely functioning MP versions.

I'd have to agree with you there. The short sighted software companies will give MP short shrift while the more intelligent executives will jump on this feature and let player's word of mouth sell thier games for them
