I have to agree though, Finland is extremely spoiled compared to other countries on that map... I mean if Britain and Spain were spolied too I'd blame it on the angle, but the way it is, i stays weird.

"For those who do not know: Ancient Pella is in Greece I'd say about 150 km inland from FYROM and pretty close to Thesaloniki and New Pella is right next to it. Macedonia was, is and will always be Greek even if Greece was wiped out it still will be Greek."

The map will be accurate once Macedonia liberates it's brothers to the south and can move it's capital there.

Macedonia is a slavic country. The ancient macedonians were greek. The two are unrelated.

Agreed and I would guess most of the world is too. They just don't happen to be the ones that have the money to visit the rest of the world or post online. I mean seriously, do you really believe that everyone in the world is smarter than most Americans? I know my fellow countrymen are stupid, ignorant, and plain rude to foreigners but they are stupider than the rest of the world? That's a stretch in my opinion...

I didn't say foreigners were any better. I said that the US is full of worthless morons who should be used as fertilizer. So is the rest of the world.

Got spare money?

Well let me tell you a little story about American ignorance. Back in 1990-91 I was an exchange student in a suburb of St. Louis. At the time President Bush was waging war with the coalition against Iraq because of Kuwait. Well, I was strolling in a mall and at a bookstore they had a special on books about the war and the area. Now there come two and look at the books. Then the one all of sudden asks "Where the f**k is Kuwait". Let me tell ya that anywhere else on this planet when one's country goes to war with another even kids of the age of 4 will know where Kuwait is. Let me illustarte a bit more. In the high scholl I was attending I was asked to talk about my country. Well as a good Greek citizen I had slides with me that showed famous Greek places and a few shots of our wonderful Aegean sea with which I talked a bit about my country and its history. Well what do you know! Once I was open for questions, I heard things like "Do you use toilet paper?", "Is Greece in Africa?", "Do you use cars?" and the classic "Do youhave tp be 21 to drink?" among other ignorant questions, in the beginning I thought that they were pulling my leg but the teacher then told me that it's a sad situation with today's american youth. Now on American Geography in the final exams we had to draw the States and name their capitals for extra credit! IIRC, there were only a couple that actually were able to pull this through, besides me. It was/is my fascination with America that of course helped me do this, since I actually have travelled way more in the US than in my own country, I think I have been in some 30+ States! The same goes for history; I am actually more fascinated and knowledgeable with American history and especially the Revolution and the Civil War than the Greek history. It's also this fact that supports my view that a a large majority of the US population is ignoramus.

Now of course, I have met a lot of Americans that actually have a much higher level of knowledge and are more intelligent but matter of fact is that a lot of people stay in the dark because of the way of life. A poloitical and social system that nurtures apathy in all things cosmopolitan. People in Europe, Asia and the other continents are much more aware of other cultures and countries because of proximity which factors in to a different way of life. Now what was shocking t o me was when a co-worker of mine here in Germany asked me out of the blue if Greece is a member of the EU , she had visited Greece a few times but she still did not know!?! Which goes to show you can find that these kind of people anywhere.

Now of course my statement to Stefu was supposed to be funny because it hits on stereotypes, which do exist everywhere and anywhere. I usually laugh my butt off when makes a joke of the stereotype about ancient Greece and the "Greek Way" .

As to Shi for your comment I only have to say . Keep on dreaming...

By the way most Americans will themselves acknowledge themselves that they are ignorant!
