WAR ACADEMY: Learning from the American War Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

Fellow Academy members,

We are about to witness the first actual war. We can learn a lot from this - see where our predictions went wrong, see whether our assumptions proved valid, see how to adjust our strategies and tactics - discover the difference between our hypothetical conjecture and actual battlefield results.

For instance, was 6 archers enough? Was it a good gamble? Should we proceed more cautiously in the future or risk more?

Did the Americans pop-rush as expected? Did they build up defenses or try to counterattack? Did they try for a military alliance? etc...

This thread is for anything we learn that from this that deserves to be noted for future planning.

Perhaps everything will go flawlessly, but as every good soldier knows, a war on paper (or electronic forum) is not the war they'll be fighting.

Put an end to popups!

good point jdd. I will not be able (I suspect) to make the turn chat (as usual), so if possible, could we try and get an accurate blow by blow posting here for reference sake. Thanks to whomever in advance.

Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

I am glad to report that this turn chat we seized ny(which had just achieved culture), then decided to make peace and obtained 2 cities philly and atlanta. So victory in the first war is ours. We lost a grand total of 2archers and one warrior during this war. Now we need to plan the next move.

One thing we learned or already knew was that the AI really sucks at early wars. We only met 2 regular archers in each city and just about no counterstrike whatsoever.
