Recently I was playing a LAN game with a friend and the computer would not let either of us research beyond the ancient age. Age was set to ancient to diamond in the options and we were playing on a pre-made map. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Activision were very unhelpful.

Sorry, I have only ever played this as a LAN version and have never encountered such a problem. Although I've never played using a premade map either.
