Not in Windows ME, but you CAN get sound in Windows NT, 2000 and XP by using VDMSound (http://www.ece.mcgill.ca/~vromas/vdmsound/).
ps. Colonization is older than Civ2, but newer than Civ (DOS, not Win).

I'm able to play Colonization in XP without running VDMsound. Check out the link below and look for the instructions (second page of the thread) by bluetempest on getting Master of Magic to work in XP. Works just fine for Colonization. Good luck!

Also, that Classic Gaming forum has a section for running MoM in ME so you might find seperate solutions that translate to Colonization by looking there...

EDIT: I dropped by the Classic Gaming ME forum and found that you have to select posts going back 365 days to see the bulk of what is in there. That MoM forum in general doesn't get a lot of posts. I mentioned Apolyton in a post I just left so maybe some of those people will come by and offer some help.
