I agree an AI switch is needed for Lung... Confuzer you would have to be the one to attach Lung and tell him that....

I'm ba-ack!! (sheepishly). I emailed Confuzer to set me to AI for the weekend. I then got delayed 24 hours, only to come home and find my monitor has croaked!

Aarrggghhhh!!!!!!!

I'm hoping my flatmate can get me a temporary monitor today. If not, i will have to get set to AI. I will post again within 2 hours with whether i can play my turn tonight in about 10 hours.

I'm emailing Confuzer to set me to AI for the time being. My flatmate may get me a monitor tonight, but there's no guarantee that it will work tonight, so i'll go AI until further notice.

Question - does Civ CTP require more than 256 colours?

Methinks my flatmate may be feeling a little bit guilty. He originally said he didn't touch my computer over the weekend, but later admitted he tested a friend's monitor on saturday. Curiously, my monitor hasn't worked since

Zaphod = Maybe you should cut down on the amount of alcohol you consume on the weekends.

Of course, for attaching AIs to players after 24 hours of inactivity it is important that you all post your turns here or else you could get an AI attached just because you didn't post your turn.

and though i hopefully won't pass out too much the next days (btw according to my headache i should rather cut down on the amount i drink in the week, it's terrible to be at a party where you get free drinks i won't be able to do a turn till late monday evening (here = afternoon apolyton). so better give me an ai. i will also mail paul to do me this.

BTW how's everybody doing? Is their starting position favourable so far? I've got a pretty good position so far.

oh and I have met with Blue Max's excellent civilization of the Greeks ... being the friendly civ that the Greeks are, they have shown their kind generousity towards the Great Monkey's civilization. I extend my uttermost friendship towards the Greeks and propose for treaty of friendship between our two civilizations.

First it was my monitor, now it's my stupid ISP. I'm sending this from work..oops! I mean, somewhere else during my, errr, lunch break. Yeah, that's it!

Suddenly my ISP doesn't recognise my login and password. We've just gone to daylight saving (woo-hoo!) and someone suggested that might have had something to do with it. It died on a sunday so i doubt it was disconnected deliberately. Anyway, i'm frantically trying to contact my slack-arsed ISP to fix it. If i haven't posted within 10 hours, then i should be set to AI. If i get home and it's not working, i won't even be able to post for another 14 hours, and play for a further 10, so read this Confuzer! Hang on, i think it's Don due to Confuzer still being on AI.

After what the AI did in my other PBEM game, i don't want to let it play a turn for me ever again. Somehow i don't think that's going to be possible. Finally, i must say that i'm keen to see this game through, so hang in there guys, it can only get better!

It turns out that my ISP has gone bust Fortunately, they're giving everyone a goodwill gesture in the form of 3 months free, which happens to coincide with when i started playing CTP by pbem Even more fortunately, my employer just sent all of us employees an internet offer of 8 hours per month free with no monthly charges ) Talk about good timing! That should meet my pbem needs

Anyway, they're able to temporarily reactivate my email, but i only expect to have access for 24 hours or so, so i'll only be able to do this one more time Hopefully, i will have my new ISP connection within that time. I will post and email my new email address when i becomes available.

Steve, in the mean time, can you resend my turn to davidl@ind.tansu.com.au in case they don't get my email working again today? I can bring it to work and send the turn off in about 20 hours. Alternatively, you can set me to AI to keep the game flowing, but that is the least preferred option for me
