Dieter the Longtooth gazed out across the wide plains and drank slowly from his waterskin. After weeks of hard walking from home, over mountains and through thick forests, they had finally reached their destination. "Yes," he muttered, "this will do nicely. Never in my many summers have I seen such great herds of the Thundering Grey Ones." Close to the sea and its many harvests this new home would indeed suit us well, he thought. Something dark and foreboding tugged at the back of his mind, though. Just over the hills to the east were the strange monuments to some forgetten god, or perhaps devil. Soon we shall have to investigate these matters further. Perhaps a War Council is in order?

With much fanfare and even more drink, the tribe rejoiced as they layed down their buckets and stepped back to admire the handywork on the first of many new huts in the village of Munich. Dieter the Longtooth had recieved word by runner that things were well at the Tribal Council in Berlin, and that it was agreed a band of mighty warriors would be formed to brave the mysterious ruins to the east. Warriors many days travel far to the west described vast mountain ranges as far as the eye could see. "Some day I shall travel to see these great mountains, and then further." Dieter remarked to one of his wives. Being happy to see the long journey end, his wife only half-smiled and gathered up her planting stick. Some day, he thought, our people will spread over those mountains, and beyond those ruins and we will have many bands of warriors. The Tribal Council will see to it, he was sure. For now, he must content himself with this village, and lay the first stones on the new Granary to be built soon. The mountains will have to wait.
