I would like to thank Ecthelion and Imran for inspiring me to create this thread.


Now, apparently, my sense of humor that my friends enjoy in real life, does not bid well here with Apolytoners, so I would like some Humor 101 lessons from some of you guys.

Not that I should be giving advice, but:

Don't take yourself seriously, or other people seriously, when you're making a crack.
Play to stereotypes.
Use of randomness is good also, when used in proper amounts...

yes, smiles can be used like punch lines, but like punch lines they require timing. Also, otomatopea (SP?) can be used to great success, like BOOOM or .... er.... uh....; stuff like that. Also watching the Simpsons is a great source of humor for any purpose.

A humor I excessively use is the 'understatement' type of humor. Like giving Mr. Muscle 2001 a 4 pound weight for his birthday. Or explaining to Asher what a motherboard is.
