If we could have bridges it should be a limited distance, or the AI will build a bridg from one side of the map to the other

Accualy, one tile is only 10 square miles, so three tiles would only be 30 miles across.

lol. That means in marla singers world map the trek from manhattan to the pacific is 210 miles, and britons thickist point is 40 miles across.

Yah, a 'real' map of the world would be HUGE & wouldn't be playable off of the worlds most powerful supercomputers.

I like the idea of bridges but not to join two continents. Am I the only one that gets irked that I lose a whole movement point crossing a river even when there is a road. Why can't we simply assume that if you build a road over a river then you build a bridge over the river?
I don't want to have to wait until railroads to have this feature. |
Don't bridges come with Engineering?

Remember the Chunnel under the English Channel.
That is another option.
Also missing from the game are Canals as Wonders - Suez, Panama.

By your estimation the state of New York is only 20 miles across at its widest point..... |
If you start a new game, found your first city, & look at the Demographics, you'll notice that that you only have 900 square miles. Therefore, by doing a little math, you can see that one tile is 10 miles by ten miles. It's the same for all map sizes. Small maps literily represent smaller worlds, & not a real sized world scaled down.
