It looks like even the big tourneys are slowing down, so I am proposing a quick, easy-to-set-up game with no CMN.
To accelerate the game without a CMN, each player gets two factions which can communicate and trade tech etc right from the start. The factions are in play order, so you will take the turns of two factions and then e-mail to the next player. The 7th faction will be controlled by the AI (and will probably have a negligable impact on the game).
Map: Ultimate Builder's Map, because of widely dispersed and well-balanced start sites. Unity survey option on, because map is publicly known.
Options: All victories, cooperative on, restart on, no spoils.
Rules: Apolyton Tournament rules EXCEPT stockpile energy is allowed (to accelerate game). No communication until contact is made.
Factions:
There is more than one way to do this, but here's my plan:
Peacekeeper-Gaian: This will be me (DilithiumDad), the game starter. I will start, select a Gaian password, and send the move on to the next player, who will then choose thier own password:
Hive-University: smhfan86
Morgan-Spartan: FlameFlash (sends turn back to game starter (DilithiumDad))
Believers: AI faction

2100 to Flame.
Is this blind research? Cuz I wasn't able to set my research goals.
Also, I've never played on this map, so could u send me a copy of it?
Is the Uni supposed to start with only one scout, whereas, the Hive starts with 2? I can't remember.

Research is not blind. It is set in 2101! Normally the CMN plays the first couple turns, but that is not the case here, so we start at 2100 on the dot.
The site selection algorhythm will give an extra unit as compensation for a poor start site. This is a rare occurance on this particular map, but it can happen. Most likely you will have some extra unity pods lying around as well. Happy popping!
I have attached the map here for you or anyone else who cares to use it --guaranteed to be faster and more challenging than a random map!

The speed of the games is roughly proportional to the square of the number of players --that's why 3-player is 16/9 or nearly twice as fast as 4-player. Plus, if the turn is stalled you know it's either with the person you sent it to or the other one!
