	Trillian, are you using it? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I am using a program called Trillian... available at www.trillian.cc it combines IRC, MSN messenger, AOL, ICQ, Yahoo and some other messenger services all at the same time

I have found this to remove clutter from the desktop, save ram and otherwise be an interesting little program.

It helps alleviate the problem of people using different messenger systems to set up games...

go check it out, you may like it..its freeware as well

well i thought it was worth mentioning just b/c we have had others ask about other messengers and not many of us were too approving of them.....

but if you could use a program that incorporates 5-6 of them at once.....seems like a decent idea to me....

time will tell i guess.....

I tried it a few months back. Sux. Got all the separate programs imnstalled now. You start to miss things that you take for granted in icq.

is it just me or do the contacts only pop up if someone sends you a message........?

i never see any names on my icq list, in fact , it asks for a number not a name?

but msn messenger lists my contacts by name....

not too sure if i am going to give this thing a ringing endorsement.

then again, i am just like any pro athalete (civ is an olympic sport isn't it ) who endorses sh!te without reading the fine print...

i have a sneaky suspicion this puppy is coming off my puter......

I have Trillian, and it works fine, except for the fact that it does indeed seem to be "dormant" unless a message is sent?!?
Which makes it rather useless, because it requires you to send a "are you there" message...
But it does seem to put everyone under the same umbrella.

Just saw this thread..........Trillian blows btw, but it looks like that is the consensus anyways.

As for removing software it can usually be done with enough effort. Just make sure you remove everything, most importantly the registry entries. You can use regedit.........but don't play with anything you don't know about.......or you'll be reinstalling anyway.

its too bad you need to use up so much ram using all those messengers.....i thought the main perk of trillian was to alleviate ram usage and make your messages far less cluttered...

well i diddn't reccommend it....i asked if anyone is using it.....and then after a bit more experience with it ..i realized why noone is using it...

its a good concept though
