Nothing much to report... more exensive trading brings a continued flood of wealth to the empire. However, we wish to protest the German occupation of Milan. We had come to the belief that the city would remain in Italian hands for at least a year after the cease-fire with Italy was signed. We implore Germany to give up this territory to the neutral nation it belongs to! If Germany wishes to expand, it may pick up the pieces of the disintegrating empire in Turkey or further afield, and not threaten stability in Europe. Aggressive expansion threatens the balance of power.
Another minor blockade was also removed this month. By the time the year is out, they will all be gone, barring a possible continued blockade in the English Channel to ensure free access for British trading ships. We hope this arrangement is agreeable to all nations involved.

Blockade near Singapore removed. Japan may now move it's ships through the area freely. The south Mediterranian blockade was to be removed this turn, however French ships were found blockading the Suez canal. Hence the forces will remain until the Suez canal blockade is removed.

We have again been unable to unblock the Suez canal this turn, as a German ship was found blocking our path. The squares 155,87 and 155,85 will need to be clear before we can unblock the canal. However, the other Mediterranian entrance was made open today. Also, the blockade south of Singapore was lifted.
In other news, the city of Lisbon today elected to join our huge empire. The Portugese realised the benefits of the Commonwealth both militarily and economically. Unfortunately, the transfer of power did not go without a hitch, as a group of seperatist rebels siezed control of the fortifications in the city and refused to surrender. Coincidentally, the British fleet was at hand nearby, and the rebel fortress was bombarded until it surrendered. Lisbon is now considered a British colony, and any attack upon it is an attack upon the empire. Spain has already recognised British rule in Portugal, and we hope the rest of the world will too.

The French protest the British incursion, however we reconize the claim and France has put Spain under its protection
stay away from Madrid.
