¿empezar a definir polígonos?...

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

OK... I don't understand a lot of what's been said, but here goes. I think it is quite possible Civ4 would be 3D. But that mostly depends on what our computers look like by the time it is released. Even now, a 1GHz, 256MB RAM PC isn't state-of-the-art anymore, so in, say, 5 years technology is surely a lot further. If that would be enough to be able render a huge map like in Civ4, I don't know.

I'm not entirely familiar with Total War, but what I've just seen from a few screenshots, I don't think Civ4 would be like that. But I think something 3D like Commandos 2 (or 3: http://www.pyrostudios.com)would be quite possible (except that's street level, and Civ4 would be world level)...

The only problem with 3D is, that it makes it nearly impossible to edit. So you can throw your customisability down the drain. Unless of course, they make an accompanying advanced 3D editor too, with lots of pre-made units and templates.

Thank you for the effort of trying understand a language that it is not yours and contribute in the forum!

You have reason, what we are speaking about is 3D units AND battles with details like Total War (or the ancient game Centurion)

Although I love Centurion, I think that it will not work... And also I agree that 3D graphics are against customization. I think that the level of Civ2's graphics is well enough for a civ game, and also I like more Civ2's graphics that Civ3's graphics... But, probably, that is 'cause I'm very used to them

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

The trouble is, Civilization has too much combats. To represent such a lot of battles could make the game even slower than civ3
But I would enjoy viewing a combat between my panzerdivisionen and the enemy pikemen

Suffering from ads?

What about a turn-based combat system, like Allied General or Heroes of Might and Magic?

Ummm, I believe that it's also will ruin the game but can be a little toy the first days...

Exacto Mercator, yo pienso igual

Seria algo fantastico... 3D=Future

In English:

Exact Mercator, I think equal

And on the units, there is no problem, which happens is that firaxis would have to work but in a publisher of units, of a doll, power to put sword to him, sends, turbans, armors…

He would be something fantastic… 3D=Future

My pleasure.
I know some French and Latin, so that helps...

Ah, I do know Centurion...
Well, adding battles isn't really a question of being 3D or not. It simply adds an entirely new level to the Civ genre.

It would be a step closer to the "ultimate" game everyone has undoubtedly thought of: the combination of MoO, Civ, Centurion, SimCity/Caesar, GTA etc. with levels of detail ranging from the universe to the streets/battlefields...

I'm sure it could be very nice in some scenarios, but to have it in all games would probably make it very, very tedious.
If the battles can be switched off too, having them would be nice (as long as other, more essential features don't suffer because of it)...
That reminds me of a demo of Age of Wonders I played... It has a fairly detailed battle mode, but you also have the possibility to automate it, and let the computer decide.

(Let's just pretend I actually read the Spanish part, instead of the English. )

I think it can already be seen in Civ3. Making animated units is already much harder. And Civ has never really come with any powerful creation tools... Even if a 3D Civ4 would come with a "unit workshop" that exceeds our wildest dreams, it would still be limiting.
