CTP and Gameleague Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Kwang has recently posted on the Gameleague home page, his disapointment in the lack of CTP activity in Gameleague. I posted my concern in this forum a number of weeks ago, and received a dribble of responses. So what gives. There are 125 players listed as CTP players. Lets get some action going.

I am looking to play in a 2-4 player game, on a small to regular map. Play would be one to ? times a week, for 2-3 hours a session. No AI and if we could all agree, victory conditions to end the game at some time short of the diamond age(besides the last civ standing victory).

My time zone is GMT-6 or US/CAN CST.

I would be interested in playing. All of the Internet games I played died suddenly, because ppl had to go to bed which of course is fine, but the games never resumed.
I think it would be best to set a particular time each week, once all the players have joined.

I can only play during the evening of EST (-5GMT).

Hi,

Define a schedule could be a good solution.
For example for me 2 times 2 hours each weekend.

I could play only the weekend :-(
In details (all times are EST time):
- friday: 14h-20h (or little more)
- saturday: 3h-21h (or little more)
- sunday: 3h-11h

Full PM-box? Change here!

I'd like to have a shot but because of the punative cost of telephone charges in the UK I could really only manage the W/E and as I'm GMT I don't know whether you could fit me in.

I Think we could play at 2pm EST (7pm GMT), to 6 or 7pm EST (11pm or 12am GMT), on Saturday. If this works for every one. Im completely flexible on weekends. Maybe we could arange sometime Sunday I can play any time sunday as long as it isn't before 12pm EST (5pm GMT).
Any other sugestions?

Suffering from ads?

I would like to play a non-pbem multiplayer game for something different (and quicker!). My only problem is time, but i'm keen to give it a try. Except for weekends, i can only play between 0500 - 1300 GMT though.

Actually, i don't even know how to connect to a normal multiplayer game! Can we change to AI midstream? That would at least allow me to attempt a multiplayer game.

If these hours are compatible with anyone else's, let me know. BTW - i think i registered with GameLeague, but haven't actually done anything there yet.

Reviewing the posts, the time which falls within just anbout everyones prime window of availability is Saturday 1900-2300 GMT. The only ones I would not know for sure are Jon and Lung. This would be 7p-11p for Jon and 5a-9a for Lung.

Now that we havea potential time to play, I was considering what to do to make the game not last forever. The longest game I player took four sessions and we played about to 1400AD or so, before it fizzled out. I propose limiting the game to a certain # of turns, 150. This would end the game arounf 1340AD. Set the research for Ancient and Ren. only. Then use Civ Scores to determine place. If this works out we could try other starting ages in subsequent games. 150 turns would give a good active game on a small/reg map, and 4-5 players open up possibilities for alliances, trade and war.

Hey Swissy

I'm not a real opponent but as I told you before I'm always up for a Multi game. I don't really go out of my way to find these Multi games. I tend to have my hands full with these pbem games and WesW mods and plus I have just discovered TOAW. Whew.... What a game that is.
