unfortunately, Archaic's build up of weapons of mass destruction near my newly conquered territory, has forced my hand. i was left with the difficult decision of declaring war and making a pre-emptive strike on his military bases.
hobbes, his dutiful pactmate, automatically intervened on his pact brother's behalf(computer decision).
my objective is clear: i will have to disarm archaic's military and bring peace to Planet.

perimiter defenses in every single base, suggest that the Hive is preparing for war.
the UofP on the other hand, is only interested in peace and research, as the plentiful network nodes in our empire attest to.
the Believers called my research blasphemous, and attacked me, leaving me no choice but to conquer their empire.
the Hive is only interested in control and military might. i will not wait, until it is too late, and let the Hive build up a mighty military.
if peace can only be attain through force, then so shall it be.

formers u say, my dear Chairman? how can i be sure that they aren't simply a cover for mobile weapon labs?
perimeter defenses have no effect on mindworms. they can only be used against man-made weapons. which begs the question, who's man-made weapons are they designed to stop?

One could say exactly the same thing about your Formers Provost. However, given that these things have been going around planting forests, farms, condensors and roads, they would seem to be generic formers, would they not?
Which was not something we knew when they were first set up. My people were understandably afraid. We lost many bases to wild rushes of worms early on. Even if they have no real defensive ability against the worms, they still help my people psychologically.
And I already said whose man-made weapons they're supposed to stop. The Gaians. All because I refused to go into a Green economy. They've got a transport right off my coastline if you hadn't noticed, and I've only stopped them thusfar by giving them nowhere to land. Frankly, if you're that unobservant about things, perhaps you shouldn't be trusting your own judgement on this matter, eh? Seriously Provost, attacking someone who doesn't have real weapons, and has displayed no real intentions to develop weapons except in self-defense against the Gaian agressors, as a pre-emptive measure to stop yourself from being attacked? There is no logic in that, and I know Provost that you hold logic highly.

P.S. Actually, I've been expecting it for quite some time. I simply didn't have enough room to build bases up here, and not enough production in any coastal cities early enough to get Foils into the water and exploring. I figured I'd lasted this long simply because I wasn't a target worthy of notice, but now that I've got the LV , which I don't doubt you want, and I've started to get terraforming in place, my territory's become a lot more valuable than it was earlier, especially for its easy access to the Gaian territories via Needlejets, if only I had them.

dear chairman, all the knowledge i need is that u have many crawlers sucking up minerals and nutrients, which can only lead to one conclusion. that u plan to use those minerals and nutrients to support a vast army.
logic dictates that i make a pre-emptive strike, to prevent the hive from amassing weapons of mass destruction.

by extricating the hive and the pks from planet, the university is performing a service to planet's environment and its people.

A warmonger has Network Nodes in every base, so that he can perform weapons development banned by the UN Charter! Not to mention Command Centers and Bioenhancement Centers in every single base to augment his troops.
Exactly Provost, exactly. My government is not a theocracy either. I am a Benevolent Dictator. And judging by the complete lack of what you would call "Drones" in my bases, ever single landfall, I rather think my citizens appreciate that rather much more than your citizens do your rule. Indeed, I have proof to that effect from the lone UN Rover pilot who escaped from your custody shortly after you declared war on us both, and the council will be seeing that evidence as soon as the sunspots are gone.
"extricating the hive and the pks from planet" are we? Thank you for admitting your warmongering. As for your "Weapons Inspectors", I don't think even you could claim that there would be any in my nation if you were trying to "extricate" us, could you? These "Weapons Inspectors" are nothing but Drop Probe Teams, Missile Choppers and Missile Penetrators. You've already slain many of our troops trying to insert these into our nation, as well as having destroyed much of our resource extraction network.

i would have gladly accepted a peaceful solution if both of u had openly destroyed all or ur military weapons. yet u mocked me and the UofP Council by building more in ur bases?
clearly, the UofP was left with no choice but to cleanse the world of all evils and leave only the righteous to live in peace on Planet.

the UofP knows that the hive police state trains all its people in the deadly art of hand-to-hand combat.
disarming means total disarmanent. my weapons inspectors could not safely pass into ur territory until i eliminated some of ur illegal weapons platforms. unfortunately, i could not predict that u would hide troops in the fungus.

the UofP has unfortunately had to take leadership of some Hive and PK bases, as clearly, their leaders were not working in the best interests of Planet and its people.
