Are PBEM and MP the same? Increase Your PM Length

MarkG seems to think so.

Even as i write this, he has said that withen 48 hours ALL PBEM threads from the Scenario League and the Spanish forum be moved here, in a subforum.

His word was :

People who play IP=PBEM players.

I think it would be interesting to see what the MP crowd thinks about this.

Not at all...

MP= Playing RealTime

PBEM= Playing AnyTime you want.

There's also not the save and reload feature available to MPers either.

Well PBEM is multiplayer, because more than one player participates. Having said that most people play PBEM or real time games almost exclusively.

PBEM is MP, but nothing the same. So I vote it as a 3rd option.

a number of MP game sin civ have become so slow in final stages that they become PBEM to keep the game going...

Totally changes the Style of play though as there is no longer any diplomacy involved...

Not my personal preference for a MP game, but still it is MP.

I'm sure your trying to tell me something, but I think my poll also told you about that a bit.

The two gaming types are seperate and distinct, set up a PBEM forum, fine, but don't shove it into MP, they aern't the same.

= is the symbol used to show equality between two parts

for example if we say

code:
kitten = cool nice beings

we mean that kitten are what they are

now, here comes the tricky part

!= is the opposite symbol!!
example
code:
People who play IP != PBEM players

which means that the people who play IP are NOT the same with the people that play PBEM

got it?
any questions?
want me to repeat anything?

here are more examples
code:
This forum = Civ2-Multiplaying This forum != Civ2-IP Multiplaying IP Multiplaying = Multiplaying PBEM != IP Multiplaying PBEM = Multiplaying

But if
quote:
This forum = Civ2-Multiplaying
and
quote:
This forum != Civ2-IP Multiplaying

then where's the forum for Civ2-IP Multilplaying?

Sounds like that means that all the IP-MP threads here are actually off topic... (easily)

He means that it's for multiplaying generally, which encompasses both PBEM and IP games. 2 forums might not be a bad idea though.

You could try to be clear, instead of scarcastic.

I have NEVER seen != meaning an inverse proposition, you will forgive me if my geekdom has yet to reach your level.
At least you see the last part, what I tried to tell you all along.
