Well, I'm not sure if everyone else has been grilled yet, but I haven't once in all the Demo games had to make a campaign speech or answer questions, so I'll go with it happily.

I have played Civ since 1991 (the very beginning!), Civ2 since '96, SMAC since, oh '98 (?), a little CTP, SMACX and Civ3. Although I have not had nearly as much SMACX experience as Civ2 experience, when both SMAC and CTP came out simultaneously here, I quickly dropped CTP and concentrated on SMAC for over 3 years (allowing for the odd University course ).

I have been VP, SMC and finally Prez of the Civ2 Demo game here - when I was Prez we won the game via domination in c. 1760. As VP (since I had nothing to do), I set up a group to revise the Constitution and resolve any issues that we had with it. Although this Committee didn't survive me leaving to be SMC, this gave me some experience in working with many posters at once. I am now SMC again for the second Civ2 game. I am an outspoken (some might say painfully so ) member of the Civ3 game and known there.

Above all, I think that the role of the Minister of Base Production will be mainly to arrange a compromise between the conflicting demands of multiple Ministers, and submit the resultant queues for public approval. Whilst outspoken on my own thoughts, I think I have shown I can go along with the wishes of the people above my own decisions. There could not be a better position I could have wanted - I prefer to deal with all the Ministers than have to analyse one aspect (eg Military, Foreign Affairs etc) in detail.

Best of all I have SMAC and SMACX, and I spend far too much time on 'Poly, so you bet I'll be answering your posts ASAP.

Oh, and no party - I like to rest on my own successes and ideals, and I am proud to believe that this will mean all parties can and will enjoy dealing with me.

EE party is no more.. I *think* I am a member of the hawks now.. anyways I am not going to be so extreme and if elected military director I will focus on strong defence and if the time for war comes a strong offence.. in other words I won't just be some crazed maniac who wants to destroy everyone

I'm still committed to cooperating with other directors and the commissioner on military matters.

I'm still for a strong but not bloated military.

I'm still for an aggressive stance against those factions that will undoubtedly want to take our resources in the future.

I'm still for supporting an aggressive exploration policy in the early years and I pleadge the support of military units to help in that area if the people and other directors request it.

I'm still looking forward to the honor of serving in the defense of the colony.

Can you please update me to a member of the Hawk party? I disbanded EE because I saw no future success in it and I guess no one else has the same extremist views as I do. Although the hawks aren't my *dream* party they are close enough for me to fit in well without having serious disagreements. The hawk party is based around a strong military so I think it would be fitting that someone from such a party was selected to fill the role of military director. If there is any role I am capable of performing well it would have to be this one. So to everyone who thought I was too extreme, you can rest assured that I will act to the situation accordingly and do what is best to make the faction succeed.

Let me ask a question. Did you abandon your exrtemist views because you are afraid you wouldn't get elected or was it a genuine change of heart? If was just because no one else was as extreme as you, what prevents you from switching back as soon as you are elected? The most important part of a military leader is consistency.

The question we must all ask is, when will you change your mind again?

if you can recall spartan Corazon Santiago flexibelty not consistency...She must have read the 13 chapters of Sun Tzu because he said that a general must make his army as water. he mend that flexible army can recover from a blow (punch water and it will become as it was before) and attack with the powe of it (flooding) but what I mean consistency looks to much like predictebal....and that is not good

The Art of War… a must read for any general and politician alike, but seeing as you are running for Commissioner I would think Machiavelli’s The Prince might be more appropriate.
