	Do You Like Money? (Or, the Capital Party thread) Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

To paraphrase the song, can you remember the last time love bought you clothes? We (me ) at the Capital Party believe that a strong economy is the key to happy citizens. As such we (I) advocate Free Market economics and high levels of trade and energy production. War is an inconvenience as it diverts resources from the economy, but we (I) think we should maintain some forces for defensive purposes (since our (my) Free Market philosophy makes stationing units overseas impractical).

Who will join me in liberating the markets of Planet?

Love does not buy you clothes, love gives them freely. Love does not count cost, love counts actions. We of the Fundamentalist Faction belive in the value of a thriving economy. However we are on a new world and this new world brings a new way of doing things. We cannot allow the old strafication of our society to follow us here. Here the measure of a man should not be what he can hold, but what he can do. Actions, not financies should be the determining factor.

Since we will have to trade eventually with other conlies here, then I understand the need for a strong economic leadership. But that leadership should be turning the others toward a system that is not based on having more, but on doing more.

Well, it's hard to argue with that. But I stand by my party's philosophy.

Mr. President: You should consider transfering your ideas to my organization. The IOC (independents of chiron) seek to combine the power of like minded indviduals who may happen to disagree on small issues into something meaningful. The IOC welcomes any opportunity to expand the power of the faction. Your party seems to attract bright individuals. Just think of the power if you were allied with other similar parties.


Greed has a place waiting in the IOC.

Basically, LSD is against all atrocities, was the UN chapter repealed or not (and we will do anything it needs to make sure that the chapter will never be repealed).

But should we come across a situation that we have to start pondering our values, we will do it wisely and with a good thought.

Considering the crippling economic sanctions caused by atrocities, and the potential damage to business relations, I except Mr. President would agree with me when I assume that The Capital Party would be strongly against our faction commiting any atrocities, and considering our possible vunribilities if the charter is overturned, I feel we'd be against that too.

Surprisingly, I find that improper use of the Free Market leads to economic ruination. For that reason, I am willing to accept a period of Planned economics in the early years of our colony, but will push for a switch to Free Market as soon as it is feasible.

Values: Wealth (preferable) or Knowledge.

Future Society: Cybernetic (preferable) or Eudaimonic.

I suppose this is the "Builder" party. The aim is to catapult the faction to the stars on the back of a powerful open economy and technology base.

IMO, Wealth/Knowledge are quite compatable, especially in early game, where there's likely to be a significant gap between the aquisition of Knowledge after wealth. In the late game perhaps we may have a difference of opinion, but this game could quite likely be over by then.
