Inthe case of dino, none of his 3 personalities wants to strengthen the US army though. They just talk.

As an American who has to pay taxes to the government, I oppose a war against Iraq.
I don't profess any interest in Saddam Hussein, or whether he lives or dies. I don't have any particular hatred for the Iraqi people, nor do I have any particular compassion for them above and beyond anybody else. What I do know is that the economy is in the doldrums right now, and Bush has already waged one war against Afghanistan. Every time I read about another million dollar missile used in the war, I question where my tax money is going. True, we need a defence force - every nation worth its salt does. But don't forget that deterrence is the only profit you will get from making a weapon. A dollar spent on a weapon is a dollar you're not getting back.
America has already proven to the world (as if any proof were needed) that its armed forces are more than adequate to avenge, repel, withstand, etc any foreign such force. The demonstration has been made. The rest of the world has seen.
I'd quite like the government to get back to sorting out the rising unemployment rate and mushrooming corporate fraud. Every time I hear the Bush adminstration issue another crack at Iraq, I wonder whether or not they're confusing their priorities. The weakening US economy was what kicked Bush snr out of office after one term. I'm not entirely sure that Saddam Hussein is responsible for that, regardless of how [twitchpinky] evil he may be.

It will be an incredible mistake to attack Iraq. What the hell are we going to do there?
So we easily conquer them and kill Sadaam. Then what? Seriously, what are we going to do there?
Put up another military dictator? Great, he gets killed within five years for being pro-US and then another guy takes power, meanwhile we have pissed off the ME and led to a major reshuffling and tons of problems. Tons of deaths and who the hell knows what happens with Israel.
The whole idea is simply proposterous. I just don't understand why we are going to do this other than the entire Bush staff sees it as a way to solve their mistake ten years ago and at the same time shift the headlines from the floundering economy to the war in Iraq.

i'm sick of the US having to be the world's policeman, why do we have to invade and or liberate every third world trash heap in the name of human rights, etc, etc? let the UN deal with it, and maybe that way the rest of the world won't complain about our intervensionist policies anymore and America will be more liked
