Ok i was thinking of buying this game, is the expansion out yet? does the non-expanded version support network and hotseat at least?

If they say October, November it will be at least.
It would be cool if any developper would claim the game would be released in, let's say, december, and than surprisingly release it in November !!!

But they never do that

My money is on November too and I would also say it will be badly in need of a patch as soon as it is released. That's just firaxis' track record.

I suspect the AI will have trouble using the new improvements and new governments (not to mention arty will most likely still be a problem). Not only that but the MP will probably be buggy and unstable. With luck though things will be properly sorted by this time next year.

Now the real question is will fans wait that long for Firaxis to get it right?

On the up side it looks like many of the games interface problems will be solved. Look at this picture where there are 21 different buttons for this worker plus four new mistery buttons on the lower right. I believe many of the hot key keyboard combos have now been made into clickable icons. If they also fix the major interface problem of not being able to see more then the first eight civs in the diplo screen then I'd say the interface will have been pretty much ironed out.

Of course we will still have the lack of stacked combat to complain about...

well the first press release said "fall"
with the time spent on 1.29 i dont think it will be september
therefore i have a 50% chance between october and november

plus, i think a firaxian mentioned october in one of the chats
