Well i have maths homework, i'll play it while i do that. I'm also making a massive campaign for Operation Flashpoint, but i think it can wait cuz i don't have the time to complete a mission for it tonight, so civ3 it is!

Seems like some more encouragement is in order - Keep it up, we're enjoying the battle. I like this kind of thread because it gives me a CivIII fix when I'm stuck in the drudgery of work.

Quick update, i started civ3 up, used an elite cavalry to take a city, and got a great leader. Turn'em into an army and i'm waiting to fill it up with tanks!
Then my friends called for me and i went out. hehe!

Ok, Japan got 4 cavalry onto my mainland, i kicked'em off in 3 turns!

The frontline with france is a stailmate, cept for a bit of fighting on the northern most corner where my artillary is trying to kill off the men then i invade with cavalry, but it isn't going to well!

China managed to take the northern most Japanese citys, thats the north city on the small north 2 city island!

About to get Theory of evolution next turn!

Ok,
Blue: British Waters
Dark Green: Japanese Sea
Green: Old Greek waters
Pink: French Channel
Light Green: North China Sea, and Gulf of China
Dark Brown: German Gulf and Old German waters
Red: Cificap: Shared, some of it is Japanese, some is old Greek, some is British. I just made it red cuz i think it should be marked out, since its the biggest bit of water.

ok, end of all wars now. For some reason i cant upgrade me man o wars to destroyers, and my swordmen to marines.

I changed them JUST for this scenairo file, do i need to change the civ3mod.bic too?

yes, just trying to get through till i have tanks! Should be fun then! The invention of infantry slowed down my expansion into france! I suppose i'll make WW2 and bomb the hell out of them!

I've named the last war WW1, since everybody cept india was involved!

Ok, its 1862ad
General overview of current events:
A British battlegroup and invasion troops are gathering in the Cificap sea just southwest of the northern japanese island, thats 2 destroyers and 2 transporters, with about 4 battleships en route!

Militery side of things:
The idea is to take the northern island and use it as a base for invasion, Yokohama is the southern most city and it should fall first!

Numbers:
A force of 21 marines (1862ad numbers) is waiting to go!
Some cavalry are on the same transporters, which are now out dated attackers. I feel kind of sorry to say this, but them men and their horses could now be named cannon fodder and i expect nothing more from them!

The British imperial navy is now under a massive expansionist phase and should be very big in a few turns!
11 transporters
3 destroyers
6 battleships
13 man o wars (now being phased out)

The ramp hits the water and the men run onto the beach! A Japanese officer takes a brisc look over the wall sees the landing craft at the end of the beach!

"WHAT ARE YOU MEN DOING! THEY'RE INVADING! YOU SHOULD BE LOOKING OUT FOR THEM!"

The men storm into the bunkers under heavy sniper fire, 2 out of 6 men die!

The machine gunners who do make it open fire, and begin to whipe out the marines.

Captain Johnson runs up the beach as bullets pop heads all around him!
"SIR, WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO!"
"GET UP THE BEACH YOU IDIOTS, TAKE COVER!"
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvBANG goes the mortor shell taking out 5 men!
"****!"
The Captain runs up the beach, an explosion goes off behind him as he falls into cover behind a hedgehog!

"MY LEG!" he hears in the distance!
"MEDIC" shouts the Captain as he looks at the man rolling over the floor holding his leg!

All of his squad is dead, the captain looks around and sees nobody standing up. The machine guns fill the bodys with holes...
The Captain waits for the landing craft he can coming towards the beach!

The Ramps hit the beach!

Sargent williams squad:
The first 3 rows of men falls under a hail of gun fire, Williams grabs hold of a bodys and keeps it up, using it as cover. He pulls the pin out of his smoke grenade and throws it forward. His squad mates shout!

Williams pulls his sniper rifle out of its water proofing and jumps behind an iron hedge hog,
BANG, a machine gunners falls
ChicChuc, Bang, another
ChicChuc, Bang, another falls
ChicChuc, Bang
"SARGENT, GET UP HERE!" Shouts Johnson
"CAPTAIN!? HOLD ON!"
Williams grabs hold of two of his men and pushes them in Johnsons directions.
One of the men hisitates and turns round!
"GO!" shouts Williams
"WA, BUT, WHY" ZZZZZZZZZPPPPPPP ppoooo, goes the bullet as it speeds through him!
Williams picks up a machine gun and sprint towards the Captain!
"SIR, WHAT HAPPENED!?"
"THEY WIPED US OUT!"
"SARGENT, I NEED ANOTHER RIFLE, I THINK THIS ONE TOOK A BULLET OR SOMTHING!"

"MORE TROOPS ARE COMING TO THE BEACH SIR, I'LL SEE IF I CANT FIND YOU A RIFLE!"

"CREAT COVERING FIRE BEFORE THEM RAMPS COME DOWN! WE DON'T WANT THEM TROOPS GETING WIPED OUT!"
"YES SIR!"

"YOUS THREE DOWN THERE, START SHOOTING AT THE BUNKERS AND GUN NESTS!"

While the men shoot, the gunners try to take a little cover and stop firing when the ramps hit the beach, all of the men manage to make it to cover before the gunners start firing again!

A runner runs up the beach towards the captain.
"Sir, we've been sent with the message of that an AT squad is coming in the next landing craft!"
"WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN?"
"I THINK IT MEANS THEY MITE BE ABLE TO TAKE OUT MOST OF THEM BUNKERS WITHOUT GETTING INSIDE!"

"OK, START TELLING THE MEN TO ADVANCE!"

The AT squads jump uot of the landing craft and start running up the beach, some of them even set up their rockets strate away, and manage to take out some bunkers.

The Captain gets hold of some spare rockets and jams them under the singles, he then uses a squad radio to tell the AT squads to fire at the shingles!

A rocket fires from somwhere down the beach and hits the shingles, the explosion sets off all of the other rockets and and the shingles up up in flames, The Marines run up the hill and start taking out the bunkers!

At the end of the turn, Yokohama was destroyed!

after so much chaos and death, the men have to jump back in the transports and invade mainland japan!

Luckely this beachhead involved less death! Its only a 20mile long beachhead, and i havn't seen if the Japanese will attack it yet!
