Turn 82 --> Lung
The Romans military leader has taken over. Shavlor has tried to pull him from office but with no luck, he has complete power. His first move was to mass an army and declare war on the Welsh. He is seeking aid from any of his neighbors, saying "We have lived in the shadow of the mighty Demosthenes for far too long. We must put an end to this and trip and kill this mighty gaint."
Many Romans cheered as he made this great speech and many flocked to him seeking to help him in his just and noble cause.
The question remains will other nations trend like sheep under Demos or will they take up arms against this great tyrant. Only time knows the answer to this great question and only time will reveil it. The Republic states that men must do what their heart calls them to do, which in this case is as clear as black and white.
THE GAINT MUST FALL!!!

I am afraid I must concur with lung, a decision over military action against the romans must be considered very carefully. How can you make it worth our time ?

Turn 83 ==> Sophix Sorry about the delay, I've had modem problems.
Quote: "Sensible Welsh, we Romans demand that you deliver the contribution of 10,000 gold to insure the security and prosperity for both our nations." - Shavlor.
Oh no! What will we do? This is what we will do Shavlor. Every nation except the Romans has recieved a gift from the Welsh this turn. This is to show that we are not in the business of violence, and value our peaceful neighbours.
Those who preach war against us, without provocation, and without the balls to actually start a conflict, are no friends of mine. It has, if anything, guilded my resolve to peaceful relations with the world (with the exception of the Romans). I do not intend to commit to war with you Shavlor, but by the time you have brought a force to face my cities, we will be more than prepared, believe me.

The great military leader if the Romans has managed an attack on the great Welsh city of Becron and successfully managed to take it if minium lostes. The military leader upon finding the almost finished wonder has dicided to finish it. The serfs of the city of Becron flocked to the great leader and joined in on the excution of the Tyrants mayor. The great leader now realizes the cowardliness of his neighboring nations. For he has no true large military but instead have something for deeper, the desire to fling for them the great oppression caused by the great Tyrant. The great leader informs all other nation that they must act or else this large gaint will smother you all. For unless it is throw down, you will have now cance of passing it. The great leader declares this a great holiday in name of noble and just retrobution.

" To state that there is not support for the Roman ideas in Egypt, would be false " Stated Rama Shu, Egypts chief astrologer, "But to think that it is the way of Mat, for Egypt to join in the attack, would be just as false."
Other leaders echoed this belief. General Humatatin, said, "Although I admire Roman courage, it would be impossible for Egypt to launch an offensive at this time, our army despite it's large size is comprised of defensive units."
The Arch Priest of Ra, probably summed up the thoughts of Egypt best when he stated, "This war is the way of Mat as at very least it will strengthen the position of Egypt, but the Lord of the Nile (Sophix) knows the workings of the universe to well to commit his troops to it."
Mat == The way of the universe, without which the universe would collapse upon itself.

Turn 84 ==> Sophix
Recent reports of the Romans annexing Brecon have today been confirmed. The Welsh leader Demosthenes is said to be devasted that the Romans have stooped to this level.
In a public statement Demosthenes accepted full responsibility for the loss of Brecon, noting that his provocation and calling of the Roman bluff was perhaps not the wisest of his decisions.
Demosthenes also announced to the people of Wales that he has called a referendum on his leadership of the nation.
"I feel that I have let this great nation down. I want the people to decide whether I should continue as their leader, and what course of action should be taken."
In a diplomatic plea to neighbouring countries, the Welsh Foreign Secretary called for a public denunciation of the Romans by other leaders, and a general call to arms for all those who share a the dream of peace. Despite opposition calls of hypocracy, the Foreign Secretary claimed that the ends justified the means.

The war against the great tyrant contuines. spy report come in from the mighty Welsh nation saying," Yes indeed the Mighty Demos did make his speach today, but unlike what you would suspect it was to his nobles and high ranking class and not the peasants. The nobles ofcource agreed that Demos was doing a fine job but the peasants who were questioned gave a different reply. They demanded to be freed from his evil cluches and begged that the mighty Roman leader would also come and free them. The troops are on the way at this very moment to come and liberate them from oppession.

The Pharaoh turned down, the recent Welsh request, once again Egypt states they our nuetral. As stated before Egypt does not have offensive forces and the only thing that war with either side would avail would be the constant need to maintain an inordinate amount of forces in every city.
"For Egypt to declare war, would mean complete war, as we share long borders with both civilization." General Hematatin stated after denying the call to arms.

Results just in:
A resounding vote in favour of the continuation of the Demosthenes government was recorded yesterday. A mighty majority of 83 percant was recorded. Government officials denied reports of vote rigging, and put the opposing 17 percent down to the selfish nobles, and bribery from the corrupted Romans.
The result was seen as a clear endorsement of a Welsh call to arms and retaliation against the Romans with the newly devised Welsh weaponary, which prelimenary reports suggest propel an object like a missile through the detonation of an explosive charge.
Production was stepped up, and a full mobilisation of all armed forces was also reported. Despite calls for conscription, due to the success shown by Roman conscripts and slaves, Lord Demosthenes rejected it on grounds that conscription was unjust, and the act of a tyrant. Such action could never be condoned by a democratic and just leader such as Demosthenes, especially with recent accusations from the Roman propaganda machine.
In a defiant public address, Demosthenes stated:
"Shavlor, I know of your plans through the democratic Welsh Intelligence Service Elect (WISE). I wish to warn all other nations that following the Romans plan of attack, from all sides with large stacks of units, will not be tolerated. I do not believe that any of my other neighbours have the intention of following your plan Shavlor, but then I was proved very much wrong with yourself was I not?
The people of Wales have decided that I have a duty to fulfil. I must make amends for my recent mistake, and reinstate Welsh rule in Brecon. With the use of the WISE, and the continued build up, in all cities, we believe, I believe, that we can put things right.
We have previously asked all other nations to join us in a crusade against the Romans, but we know now from your replies, and our consideration, that this is a matter to be decided between the Welsh and Roman nations alone. Therefore I implore all other nations not to intervene in any any manner. If the peace is kept between us and yourselves, we will continue to benefit your nations."
The WISE also reported huge human rights abuses in the former Welsh city of Brecon, with the population being forced into slave-like conditions in the rush to complete a wonder to their new egotistical ruler, Shavlor.

My, how the world has suddenly changed into a violent place. It's a good job nobody knows how to make nukes yet
FYI, it may have escaped your notice, but there are a few of my units wandering about that particular area, inculding a diplomat who was about to establish an embassy with a city that is no longer there. There's also the trade route accepted by the English to a city which is no longer there.
Which leaves me to ask, why the unprovoked attack on the English? In what way were they a threat? Indeed, in what way are the Welsh a threat? We haven't instigated this spate of violence. Rumour has it that the Romans have spiked the water supplies of other nations with LSD, although this has not, as yet, been confirmed by the WISE.

Turn 85 ==> Shavlor (or is that the military leader whose taken control)
Egypt is greatly saddened by the Warlust that appears to engulf the world, but according to General Humatatin the wars which now engulf the world are all for the best, commenting on the two wars, the General stated, " The War between Rome and Wales will serve to divert Welsh funds from more profitable enterprises such as science and growth. The Australian war on England is also seen as advantageous, as it will establish another power who vie with Welsh."
The secretive TIC(Theben Intellegence Commision) also released a statement today validating, the new technology which the Welsh stated to have gained. It is believed to serve extremely well for defense making a city very hard to take.
The Arch Bishop of Ra cautioned the Welsh over the plebian voting, " Although it's(the voting's) validity has not been substantiated. The mere hint of giving power to the dregs is disastrious. All one has to do is look at Rome. That was indeed an uprising of the rabble caused in part if not in full, by the power of the lower classes. Luckily in Egypt the power remains firmly in the hands of the Pharaoh."
