If we cant even make holo theaters then what? If we cant develop the tech to build research hospitals, then what will we do when the Prometheus Epidemic hits? And When Planet’s mindworms start taking our children what will we say to their parents, that we cant even build a centauri preserve just because we dont have the tech! My friends, if we are to survive then Technology is the answer! So how do we plan to go about it? The Scientific Axis does not have a set political agenda, we will support who we know will put science high on the agenda, if that means the ACE then we will support the ACE, if it means the CDC, we will support them, we support whoever we think will do there best to fullfill the promise of tech at any cost. We support using our Probe Teams to get tech our opponents have, more so if they are our enemies! How would you like it if the Hive started bringing there needljets upon us before we can retaliate? We support limited war if we can gain tech from a stolen base. And we do not want to rule out atrocities! People have said we are immoral, but we ask you this, just how can atrocities be used to gain tech? On there own, you cant, but if we must nerve gas a base to get at the tech before they overpower us, then so be it. You can tell we are passionate, and so are YOU! Admit it, you know we need the tech to survivie, you can tell we will always keep that as our objective, you know that unlike parties with many names and titles, we have one clear and set goal. We do not want to go around looking for trouble, we go around looking for knowledge.

FAQ about the TSA

Q. Why do you support atrcitites.

A. We support atrocities as a last resort to gain tech that we desperately need, no more.

Q. Our Commisar is a fundementalist, doesnt that worry you.

A. Crisler believes in expansion which will certainely help us gain tech.

Q.What SE choices to you support.

A. It will be a difficult balance to strike, Democracy obviously for politics, we can go anywhere with planned, and values depending on our situaiton can be anything from Knowledge to Power. We are an adaptable faction which is our main strengtt because we only have one goal.

Thankyou for clarifying, that only means we will not need to take as many extreme acitons. And yes Zharkov VII we supoort the free market economy and we know it will certainely help in boosting research tremendously (I always play as university so I know) at the start we may be a bit unstable to handel it, but we want it in the long run.

As it stands, there are three parties which emphasize science in their charters: the EDP (Explore/Discover), the P4 (Discover/Build), and TDC (Discover/Conquer). It'll be interesting to see how this develops.

I have to admit...University's no longer my favorite faction, I rather like the Peacekeepers.

Free Market's easy (at least, much easier) with them...especially on Thinker, we can get to size 3 without problems. I've never been one for exploration, using just the Independant Scout and whatever Independant Rovers I can dig up.

In fact, if I had my way, I'd forget all this Secrets rubbish and go straight for Industrial Economics (after Centauri Ecology, of course ). Waste of time, spending two tech cycles to hopefully get 3 techs (and what if we're not first? Then what?, all of which I don't find particularly useful while expanding (unless we take Industrial Base as the freebie). Why not spend those 2 cycles getting to Free Market?? We'd probably be able to get Information Networks and Planetary Networks just as the Secrets line (taking Industrial Base) gets to Free Market, and we'd be richer (more Colony Pod hurrying!) and one step away from Wealth (and Crawlers). I really couldn't care for Morale and Democracy just doesn't seem worth the Ethical Calculus trip while expanding. Recreation Commons aren't needed until after expansion, so there goes them. We can head towards Democracy once we're comfortable in our Free Market/Wealth with plenty of bases.

I do play at Transcend so I (hopefully) know what I'm talking about...

You're not the only one who thinks that way. While I tend to go Planned with Uni for the first little while (That +2 Research nicely buffers the Research hit of -2 Efficiency), with the Peacekeepers an early Free Market could set us well on our way research wise.

Well, having read through the speeches and questions/answers once more, I can safely say that on the matter of Director of Social Engineering, I agree with TSA.

I'm a little worried, however, that these important SE decisions won't be an issue during the first term...


You can count me as a supporter of the ideals represented by TSA, though I don't wish to be an actual member. It just so happens that I agree with some of your decisions meant to realize these dreams.

Arigato. ^^ I'm going to need as many votes as I can get to balance out the CDC's left wing pressure.

Given that we're not the University, it may be that we won't be able to get anywhere in tech enough to make important SE decisions, but if not, we will in the 2nd term, and it'll be a damn sight easier to get back in if I'm already there. On the off chance we actually get those decisions in the first term, then it's better to have someone in there who'll make the right decisions, just in case.

I don't want to commit myself by saying we would only use them in this or that situation, other problems may arise we haven't thought of.

While the EDP and TSA have some common goals, i feel we have quite different views on how to reach them.
