Distance between civs Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I think that distance between civs (see mao sizes tab at rules editor) must be enlarged. It ofthen occurs at small map with ilands that 6 civs are at one tiny island and other islands are free.
Is it good?

Put an end to popups!

I have found that if you enlarge it too much, you may end up with 6 or 7 Civs starting literally right next to you.

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

You do get annoyingly close to other civs sometimes. I just leave 2 civs out of the game to fix this if I want to play a builder game.

Like panag said, this works fine in the editor. You just need to be careful not to bump the Distance Between Civs too high or else there will not be enough valid starting locations. Also, I think the game tries to put civs on larger land masses; if you have really small islands on the map, the game probably doesn't even consider starting a civ on them.

Just go to the World Sizes area in the editor, there's some numbers there you can change. I doubled it to 48 on huge maps myself, since I only play on 256 x 256. It works just fine.

Increase Your PM Length

I think it's coded somewhere in the program where civs will start and it can be changed in the editor only in a very complicated way. Think it also depends on the level you chose. Easier setting: you will be quite alone on the island and have plenty of room for expansion. Heavier one: You are surrounded by potential enemies on a small island.

Inflate your Upload Space

I always play on huge maps, with 16 civs.
it's working fine. Not too much civs near, but it's cool to have some next to me as well, to work together with. (and destroy later )

hi ,

its coded , but not that hard , its only logical that the distance gets greater when the map gets greater , ...

the level , it only plays a small part , ...if any , ...

if you start on a large island it can be great !
intresting to play on, the higest levels then !

have a nice day

On Tiny maps, Regent and Monarch level, medium land mass, I found the capitals always very close, even though later, when the map was exposed I could see they could have been much further away.

But enemy capitals were more spaced apart when I switched to games played at the high land mass setting. So if you haven't, I suggest using the highest land mass setting.

hi ,

you can always change the distance in the editor

on 256 x 256 its good to have 36 , that seems to work
