I reckon the ultimate civ game should have a very historical feel. I don't mean following actual history, but recording it as it happens in your game. My game would have floods, droughts, volcanoes, tidal waves, bushfires, cyclones/tornadoes/typhoons, twisters, earthquakes, and perhaps even the odd meteorite to spice up the game (with nifty graphics to boot. General gameplay graphics can be reduced in preference for better graphics associated with events). These events, along with revolutions, the dawning of ages, wars, environmental catastrophes and other events of historical significance should be recorded in a 'history of your civ', if you choose at the start of each game. At the end of the game, your civs history should be shown chronologically to give your sense of achievement. For some reason, people don't seem to often agree with me on this, but that's what i reckon, so like it or don't
Unfortunately, in this game all events are treated as non-events, which is my one big gripe. What's the point in creating something from nothing without savouring the achievement? Sorry, Zaph, but you just got me started

To the Australians,
We are not seeking any favors of any kind in the near future. Our gift was merely a warm welcome by the French. We tend to give gifts to new civilizations that we meet unless there are early hostile actions from the start. (BTW has everyone received at least one gift from me yet?)
To the Russians,
We might be on the brink of creating one of the greatest empires this world has ever seen. Please if you accept, i invite the great czar of Russia over to neutral territory(ie threads at Apolyton) to sign the official declaration.
