Turn 170 ==> Sophix
More espionage agents have been encountered and so The WISE have stepped up their counter-intelligence operations.
We wish it to be known that any covert agent, of any description, and of any nationality, found withn Welsh territory, shall be executed on sight.
Some might say that this is a little severe. However, the Welsh have been tolerant and forgiving over the years, and still we are subjected to this mistrust and deceit.
Of course, those who are not sending secret agents into Welsh territory have nothing to fear, neither do legitimate Ambassadors. So, as all claim ignorance over the allegiance of recent purpotrators, I expect that nobody will find this policy offensive...

Turn 170 ==> Mobius (last night)
Out of the mouth of Wales comes the decrying of espionage. But from her hands comes espionage. Demosthenes we have spotted a cleric well within Egyptian territory, just east of the city of Bubastis. We did not deal with the unit as to find out the true nature of Welsh honor. Therefore Egypt has declared that if the unit stays were he his his and allows himself to be arrested, he will be sent home, but if attempts to flee he will be hunted down and executed.
Egypt also stated that if any other espionage units are found within Egyptian soil it will be considered an act of war. Unless the nations step forward and claim their units now, by reporting the location of their spies to Cairo.

Turn 171 ==> Sophix
Lord of the Nile,
It was with great joy that I heard you had found my clergymen, missing since the great war with the heathens in Rome. It is feared that his passing through desert and swamp and brough him down with a fever, a kind of religous fevour, and we must treat him ion our hospitals as soon as possible.
Many thanks, please send home my Priest forthwith.

Turn 172 ==> Sophix
Lord Sophix,
My thanks for sending my wayward priest home to us. However, his harrowing tale chills us to the bone.
Deprivation, poverty, abuse and torture, all prevail in the delta plains. And a huge buildup of armed forces, including shiny new cannons, all heading for Welsh border lands.
The WISE have been asked to deliberate on this issue and return with a new policy stane as soon as possible.

Turn 173 ==> Sophix
The WISE have obtained more information on the Secret Agents of our neighbours, and are currently tracking the progress of one agent, nicknamed Sebe Belasteros.
His destination is as yet unknown, but should he cross into Welsh territory he can expect the most unpleasant of actions taken against him. The WISE are not to be taken for fools.
On a lighter note, Wales celebrates today the new workshop for science, named after the great Edison Jones. Already this think tank for all things science has benefitted us such wonders as movie theatres, which the people of Wales look forward to visiting very soon.
Rumour has it that Demosthenes himself is set to appear in one of the first films shown, although the nature of the film is yet to be disclosed.

Hmm Sebe Belastiorous? He's not on the Egyptian Payroll.
Concerning the cleric who claimed conditions bad in Egypt. I am afraid that Demosthenes was right the man was not in his proper faculties. As a fever had removed rational compacities from his poor brain. In fact when he was brought into the Egyptian city, his condition worsened. When the poor sheep farmer saw the glories of Egypt all remaining strings of sanity left him, and he lay commatous in the Egyptian hospital until he was shipped out via the best train. A pathetic sight really.

Turn 177 ==> Sophix
The WISE have encountered more suspicious agents wandering close to Welsh territory. Also, other nations appear to be gearing up for war, with once alertful militaries stepping up to an aggressive stance.
In response to this news, Wales has ordered a series of military manouvres to be carried out, in order that she be fully able to defend herself, should the need arise.

Since Wales as seen it fit to step up their military readiness, Egypt has no choice but to follow suit.

Turn 177--> Steve Waugh
Before I had even arrived in Rome, I was threatened by our Australian friends, and the very character of Roman citizens was insulted. While these are clearly nervous times for the nations of this world, I'd rather hoped to be greeted by warm hellos, and the odd tech gift!
Be that as it may, we understand that the discovery of a Roman military unit could be unsettling. How he even came to be on that craggy peak of Mount Lung is a mystery to us, although Roman scientists have theorized that he might have fallen down a wormhole thousands of years ago, and after landing in a glacier on Mount Lung has spent all this time in suspended animation, only now to be thawed by the Australian discoverers.
We now wish to return this poor, confused man to his homeland. In order to do so, we will need to walk him across Australia, past Wagga Wagga, and then through Welsh lands, past Caernarfon, and into Rome again, where a team of social workers will attempt to help him rejoin polite society.
For this we will need the gracious permission of both the Australians and the Welsh to cross their lands.
May we bring a lonely old soldier home?
Rick

Turn 178 ==> Sophix
Rick the Protector,
Why not move into the vicinity of an Australian city and accept Steve Waugh's demand that you stop tresspasing, thereby removing the inconvienence and substantial time that it would take to return your weary warrior home?
And as for the Egyptians now raising their alert! Ha, it is mainly in response to the Egyptian miltary movements and readiness that Wales has taken it's most recent step, as relations between Wales an Australia are proving most beneficial and friendly, whilst those with Egypt and her satellite state of Rome have all but disappeared.
Egypt raised her readiness some time ago, and due to recent troop movement towards the Welsh border, and the tracking of spies around the city of Sebenytos, Wales has felt the need to ensure she is fully prepared for any devious designs that Lord Sophix, High Priest of the Nile, may have in mind.
