Hello All,
I'm new to the whole PBEM genre, but since I have throughly worn out the Civ:CTP's AI, I'm desperate for a real chalange.
Having never played a multiplayer game before I imagine I will be easy pickings, still, can't be helped.
I was thinking of playing Regular sized map with about five civilizations on it (If I get a big responce, I don't mind going up to eight). We'll play on a standard earth-type map (unless you are all desperate for an island bash), King level with minimal barbarians. I suggest we start with about 20,000 gold each to speed up early building, and perhaps 1,000 PW or so. I think we'll have blood-lust off, so that the game doesn't become a stalemate in the diamond age.
Anyone out there interested? Perhaps to start on 13th December?

Hello Oliver,
I think Blackice is looking for a game. You should consider getting rated like most of the CTP PBEM players. If you would like that, tell us what was your best defeat against the CTP A/I -- (Chieftain, Warlord, ... etc., and we'll add you to the list!

As for the game suggestions, I would now like the Earth type map, as we already have on Islands game going on. Minimal barbarians aren't good though, I always vote for max barbarians, as they're very good to slave early in the game. In fact, minimal barbarians means you can only face these guys when entering some fo the ruins on the map.
5 players is the most common player number for PBEM, as it combinesfun adn doesn't let the game to become too slow.
Diamond age, huh? PBEM almost never gets there, remember it's play by email. This means the games are slow, and going to the Diamond Age would take at least 1.5 years of playing, this is not like the TCP/IP connection type games.

Thanks for the responces. I'll go and buzz Blackice now for a rating. If he'll let a newbie like me play in his game, that'd be great.
So the games don't reach the Diamond age, huh? How do most of these games end? Is there some kind of mutual agreement when someone has won (like they are twice as highly rated as everyone else), or are all the other players just soundly beaten?
