Lynn Stuckey, 34, has been ordered by an Illinois judge to stop breeastfeeding her 8 year-old son or face child abuse charges. Her son has already been taken in foster care once because of this.

It's kind of disgusting. She should have weaned the kid years ago. Of course I'm not sure where the abuse charge comes into play.

Given the fact that it is something the child is used to literally from birth, I don't think it is an abuse in the sexual way. But I fear it hinders the child to mentally grow up and become an adult which is also a bad thing. Any psychologists here?

Didn't someone post a thread a year or so ago about people from Asian island countries that breast feed up to 5 years old and even longer? It supposedly had some benefits. But of course that wouldn't work in our society as that is not the norm.

There are many ways to "Hinder the child's mential growth into productive adulthood".

As far as I know there are now laws against "Breast Feeding" (but some think there should be), nor are there any laws that I am aware of the place an age limit on Breast Feeding.

If this woman had any money to fight this the State would not prevail.

I don't know where the link is, but the "asian island' was San Francisco, which explains a lot of things.

I don't think its sexual abuse unless the woman is getting sexual arousal from it. Although that is difficult to prove.
