Hi all,
I am thinking of starting a set of PBEM games of two main categories, Deathmatch & Standard, with some specific rules in mind just to keep the games to a high speed and alive until they finish.
Categories
Deathmatch: Games in small maps and mostly modified to accelerated start. Its purpose? But of cource to reduce the time a PBEM game lasts.
Standard: For gamers who like more diplomacy and fun and are willing to spend maybe more than a year for a game to come to an end.
Rules
Moderator: Every game should have at list one moderator who will not be permited to play on the specific game (two are recommended). His job will be to track the turn speed of the game and when a player haven't played his turn on a specific period which will be defined from the supervisor then he will open his turn and hit the END button or play it depending on the player's demand which will be determined on the begining of each game.
Supervisor: He will be the one who starts the game. His job will be to supervise the game and notify the appropriate player/s about anything that doesn't work right. Like when moderator "forget" to next turn a player or when a player "resigns" he will be responsible on finding a substitute, etc.
The supervisor will determine the rest of the rules for the game he starts.
Recommended rules:
Deathmatch: 4-6 players, Accelerated Start, 24-hour turn rate.
Standard: Regular or huge map, 4-6 players, Accelerated Start, 24-hour turn rate
If the mods are custom and not "ready" like Medieval then it is recommented not to modify any of the default game's files but only the files whithin senario's folder.
All of the players has to have patch 1.2 in order to play PBEM games.
The English version of the CTP is preferable as the localized versions (German, French, Spanish & Italian) generate localized messages to other players who do not know the specific language and have to guess what the message says (it won't be hard to an experienced player at list most of the time ).
These games should have some kind of ratings specifically for each one of them. Maybe Quinns and Solver could help us out. Also these games could be rated in the Ladders too.
If you guys like the idea and want to add some recommendations and ideas then I'd be happy to hear about it .

Cool! We've got two entrants for the upcoming Keygen's Series! Yes, they will be rated in the Ladders too if the most players want to.

I disagree Solver.
There are some times (well, not many) that these emails really helps.

Keygen, is this why you've abandoned the great Lungmatch tournament??
The tournament is still viable, and well advanced, but the group you were in is as good as dead. You said at the time that you were in too many games, so i was waiting for DMM 1.1.2 to finish before harrassing you to play your re-match. Of course, DMM 1.1.2 is the slowest game on earth, so i hadn't asked you yet. So, do you want to play the re-match, or do you want to quit like a girl?
The Lungmatch tournament is progressing very slowly at the moment, but i intend to get it moving quickly again, as it is advanced and has a lot of life left in it. For the record, the progress is as follows;-
Group 1 - midway through round 2
Group 2 - finished round 1, but waiting start of round 2
Group 3 - finishing round 1
Group 4 - finished round 1, waiting to start round 2
After round 2, we're straight into the semi-finals, with the top three challenging for the final.
So if you want to start a new tournament, go right ahead, but i bet Lungmatch finishes before yours
BTW, anyone want to come in as a replacement for the vacant spots? It's 3 players on a small map, with 3 settlers and some gold.

Any other idea!
At the end of this week I will start a new PBEM relied on these rules. A PBEM for youngbloods.
In the two next weeks I will start another two PBEM with the oldest PBEM gamers and with the best players.
So post here any other idea if interested regarding the rules otherwise it will be difficult to change them when these games start.
