	Keygen's Call: There Can Be Only One! Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Hello!

Looking for the best players ever to prove their skills in a long diplomatic PBEM game.
The candidates must have won at list once in a PBEM game or have proved their mastery.

Thinking of an accelerated start, 4-6 players in a huge or gigantic custom map, on Deity level, with raging hordes and many goods.

If interested on a deathmatch with the best then refer to the "Keygen's Call: Only The Best Will Survive topic.

This game is the third and last game of the Keygen's Trilogy and will be using the "Keygen's PBEM Series Rules".

and Shimo tourney is played like a regicide match there, and the official phrase is: "In the end, there can be only one".

When I read "there can be only one" my first thought was of the Highlander movie. I guess that's where that Shimo thing also got it from.

That's right Paul, I took it from the "classic" homonymous expression from Highlander .

You're in Rick. A won in a PBEM game is a good criterion. I wan't you in the above deathmatch too. It's gonna be splited into groups (different PBEM games) and the winners form them will compete in a final deathmatch for the proclamation of the Best of the Best.

Damn, I need some help here.
Who are considered the best players here?
I know Swissy is one of them but he has got involved in "Veterans In Arms!" & "Only The Best Will Survive".
I consider Mobius too as a good player.
I don't know for the rest though.
Can you help me out find out the best?

Who lost 8 times to Diety?
I had lost a couple of times in the past on Deity.
I had won all the other games I had played in all other levels exept once since I started playing single CTP games (from the first day CTP released in Greece).
I recently played twice on Deity just to get a better starting point at the ratings. I lost the first as I had been continuesly been attacked with fusions by tree nations for the last 50 turns. I lost half of my cities as I hadn't much army to protect them (focused on other areas). If I hadn't been attacked so persistently from so many nations I would probably had won the damn game. I crushed them on the second!

Well, it only took you one game to win on Deity.
But how many games did it take you to the other levels?
I bet you have been playing turn based games since Civ2 or 1, right? Well I have accually started on CTP.
I had played for a few months Civ2 and SMAC but not many games.

Maybe I should kick you butt at the "Fixed Game"!
But we are friends there, right?
Well in some other game then
Why not in the "Only the best will survive!"?
You have won on the Deity so you are qualified!

A challenge! I accept your challenge Keygen. I'll go to the thread you mentioned and sign up properly.

Well, I DID exagerate a bit (2 not 8 restarts against Deity). I was just trying to get your goat! It worked.

I never played CIV 2 and just started playing CTP in July 2000. I've been relying on an old strategy from CIV 1 that worked pretty good there. That's it. I really DO probably stink in PBEM. I haven't have my strategy REALLY tested against human players. But you did put a good word for me in Fixed Game regarding my power graph jump (thanks), so you have seen that that old strategy can work in CtP PBEM as well. I hope it really does.

I guess you will be a real challenge in the "Only The Best Will Survive!" PBEM game .
Claim the best posision there! It will be a hard game though. Good players will play there. The trophy will be the best of the best!

If one more slot open....

I do only play my SP in deity levels - no matter what type of games. And so it has been since I got a 'puter. CTP since marts 1999.

Hmmm, correction: Not all games. In chess, the AI are too strong.

I have not WON a PBEM game before - but as you know, I am not the weakest either.

So if the game has not been launched and if there is one place open yet, one of my usual civs/leadernames.

I think you are a good player too BirdMan. Don't know yet who will play and who won't.
I have created a topic just to figure out who could possibly be consider one of the best and then be challenged on both this game and "Only The Best Will Survive".
