Heh, I was at (very) rural area elementary school by the time we discussed joining EU and you can imagine all the rubes against the whole idea. If someone said one positive thing about EU, they could have hanged and burned him/her as a witch

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

I made my military service during the Gulf War, (in Skövde... ) They had to beef up the security so we were forced to do a lot of extra guard duty. Boring as hell... We had live rounds in our AK-4´s, but we weren´t allowed to shoot anyone that looked even remotely suspicious...

The early 90´s synth scene was also great. Cat Rapes Dog, S.P.O.C.K, Pouppe Fabrikk, Elegant Machinery, etc...

NOooooo,, the 80s are coming back, no time for 90s nostalgia!
Ok I'll give it a try. Women started to shave in the porn industry plus silicon implants became very popular. It was the golden days for huge boobs. Few good new names, Jenna Jameson especially. The soundtracks went boring at that time, comparing to interesting and groovy 70s and 80s baselines. Also men started to have long long hairstyles, and the quality was much better than before. But those are all gone now, so it's nostalgia. One thing stayed, and that is the popularity of small productions and indy-stuff.

The boom of disaster movies beginning from The Twister. After that every movie had something to do with natures rage.

The rise of the cell phones.
Also CD-ROMs and such. It was the glory days of MS-DOS etc.

Oh yeah? And Michael Jackson screwed a little boy at his ranch AND a monkey.

I think nostalgia can start at the 10 year old mark. Come to think of it... good, honest baseball in America is nostaglic. Considering baseball died in 1994. What we see now with the MLB is just the chicken running around with it's head cut off.

IIRC it was the striptease that began his (rapid) slide into jokedom. I mean, I remember being a kid and watching ski-jumping and Matti being great.

One my best memories from Hultsfred festival is when CRD played there in 1992 (I think...) And Joel kept running off stage during the performance. When I talked with them afterwards backstage I asked why. It turned out Joel had the flu so had to run off the stage to puke...

Hey this is my thread.

Grunge. Not sure if it ever hit Europe, but it was bigger than big here. And I went into. Soundgarden, Alice in chains. You name it.

Anyone remember Nirvana? . At first I didn't like them because they were too popular, but I ended up liking them.

Terminator 2. Remember when that movie was the ****. OK it still is the ****. This movie still rocks even with that annoying kid.

The internet? anyone remember that? Using phone lines to connect to the world wide web

Your first internet porn site. Oh the memories.

Your first wav file you downloaded on the internet.

Doom and Doom 2. Yeah

Bush. These guys just rocked. Sixteen Stone is still an amazing album. This album just blew everything away.

Sepultura and Pantera released their best stuff in the 90's. They suck now.

Season finale of Cheers . Along with a whole bunch of other crappy shows.

Snapple. Anyone remember that?

speaking of snapple. Seinfeld. The greatest sitcom ever. No Soup for You!! Master of my domain.

Seinfeld and Simpsons were the Shows of the Nineties. Simpsons is still on, but it's quality has gone down measurably, so if we're thinking about the time Simpsons still was good, nineties it is.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

90's cars looked so much better than the 80's. compare the hornedous early 80's mustangs to the mustang 5.0's.

and I kind of like the PT cruiser.

Easy rule of thumb for me.

If the Mustang doesn't have the horsey logo on the grille, it sucks. Those boxy things in the mid to late 80s, even though the 5.0 was there. Ick. Gimme the '65 or my '01.

They used to make a 4-cylinder Mustang. Oye Gavault! (Is that how that phrase is spelled?)
