Up'n coming turn chat

Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

This will be our first turnchat and a while, and dal net either doesn't like me, or is largely down.

The purpose of this thread is to post on what servers are currently up, and to resolve any problems we might later have.

The only server I've been able to join is twisted (twisted.ma.us.dal.net). This server has a monsterous 14 ping reply with itself. Someone lend a hand!

Sky, trends of servers don't matter. What works right now matters. Are you on jade right now?

Might I suggest irc.gameslink.net? It's not in the DAL network, but it at least has a zero ping with itself.

*hits self in head* Sky, the point is EVERYONE would be on that server. There are no dalnet servers currently able to host a turnchat.

If DalNet gives us trouble again then I suggest we move temporarily to irc.israel.net. It's super reliable, it's plugged right into the Israeli backbone (meaning fast access for Europeans) and I know most of the admins.

I can't connect to Dalnet either.

I'd try the Isreal net except that I don't see it in the dropdown IRC network box.

I'm an IRC rookie. Much prefer a java based chatroom if possible.

did you try dal.net or us.dal.net / eu.dal.net as servers? then just wait till you get one of the servers on your continent.

the problems can also be inter-continental problems, which will then also effect all the other big networks.

the web-version on www.dal.net should work anyways.

dis org: unless things changed since my last post, twisted is the only server that works. The web client simply logs directly onto dal.net, which redirects you to a random US/CA/EU server. It isn't really a server itself.

Can someone explain to me how to connect to twisted.

the Dal.net web page isn't responding. It hates me, though, so that's no surprise.

Chat starts soon. We need a reliable site. If someone can find one and post instructions to us all, that'd be greatly appreciated
