To all who play with Aaginor ... Got spare money?

Sorry folks, but I have a new problem.
My ISDN stinks. I do not get a connection to anywhere. So it looks like I have to wait, until the Telekom-Service-Team has fixed the problem (whatever the problem is ...)

And that means that I can't play any turns now. I do not know, when they fix it so please, all who send me turns:
send the turn to me, next me and send the nexted turn to the next player, so I can act again, when the problem is fixed.

Till later ... Aaginor, He who has no connecting ...

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Thanks to Paul for putting this back to my memory.

15 days is a very long time, I know aaginor has not asked for a replacement but ?

I write it here and I send Aaginor a mail now with this:

I can be sub for you in those games I am not playing myself AND I will appoint subs for you in the games I am playing in.

Otherwise you will have close to no chance to suvive.

I hope you read this or the mail somewhere in the near future and that you somehow are able to respond.

By th way - Aaginor is active from time to time fx. in Team Spirit. Just I think it is better to send the turn to Aaginor AND to his sub instead of to Aaginor AND a nexted game to the next player.

Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I must confess, that I am confused a bit.

Some games reach my mailbox, some games not. (From the threads I have learned that I was nexted in several games)
But I know, this is mostly my own fault, for I would have to read all these threads continuosly. But time is short sometimes, as I am involved in some other time-consuming hobbys (P&P RPG, making music, go out with friends and so on). Beside, I have to work to pay my living.
Sometimes, my day looks like:
Up at 0900, washing, dressing, eating, biking ... at work at 1000. 1900 away from work and to a friend for some RPG. 0200 return home and fall into bed and *chrchrchr*
Or several things with a rehersal and so on ...

On the other hand, motivation goes low, for some recursiv reasons. If I can't use about half to a full hour a day, dealing with the PBEM (playing, reading the threats, writing messages ...) I put myself away from the action and the fun. This causes a lower motivation and therefor, I spend less time with the PBEM. And being nexted is not a good way to play in the upper part of a game. A deadly circle!
And another thing: I feel ashamed of beeing the reason for some games to slow down, if I am responsible (don't play for not being online) or not (crashed telephon-line).

So, I think it is the best for all of us to be consequent. Caused by a low motivation and a lack of time, I am looking for a permanent replacement for the games, where I am involved. These games are:

- Conquer!!!
- Do some PBEM
- Giant Bird
- Fly High
- World Scenario
- Midway
- Islands
- Team Spirit

I will, of course, continuing playing until this sub is found. Again, sorry for the trouble I have caused ...

Aaginor

Too bad Aaginor. Sounds like you overextended yourself in CTP PBEM. Can't you just cut way back and stay in just two or three games that you enjoy the most? That way you don't need "half the day" to play, just 10 to 15 minutes a day... if that. It's a shame to see you leave "cold turkey" like that!

Regretfully, Quinns

Yes, Quinns, maybe you are right.
But unfortunatly, I don't know what a cold turkey is ... means ... I KNOW what a cold turkey IS, but I do not know what this phrase means ...

I think I know:

If you really are hooked on something - and suddenly you cant get it anymore - then it is a cold turkey.

Trembling - seeing strange things - play the turns in sleep - see all your enemies being flooded and your own nation just having a few more rivers

The cold turkey is the first and worst thing of these.....

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

LOL Sorry, I guess that's an American term. "Cold Turkey" is a common expression in the U.S. and means just about what The Bird Man said. It is not an insult. The best example is with people trying to stop smoking cigarettes. Some people quit gradually and some people quit "cold turkey", that is, they stop smoking completely with not even a puff allowed. I thought the analogy was appropriate as "CTP PBEM" can be very addicting!

READ HERE - ADD - READ HERE.

Do some PBEM are still "vacant".

The japaneese nation is at a third (just dropped down from being second).

Attractive nation(!) that Aaginor has made a great effort of. Original owned by someone called CharlieBrown.

I agree with quinns, Aaginor. It is a pity to see you leave every game. It would be nice to have you around in one or two games. But..., its your time and your decision of course since, if you stay, people expect you to generally make the 24 hour rule.

Whatever you decide. It was fun playing with you. Thanks,

Franses
