	EU II: what I want to understand... Put an end to popups!

Hello everybody,
I just purchased EU 2 following the instinct.
Did I make a good choice?
Who knows?
I'll explain you why, hoping that anybody can help me.
- tha manual is not so accurate, it gives a lot of historical info but none on the game (i.e. how do the combat works, how can I modify the values... and so on)
- the tutorial. completely inaccurate....
- the scenarios: how do I learn to play? Do I have to go directly in one of tha campaigns where I already have 37 techs, refineries, 9 countries, alliances and royal marriages??? come on!!!
Is there any scenario where I can start from a reasonable beginning??? (please forget the "boring" Fantasy, I've played about 55 years and not a lot happened except that I send 6 settlers witha 65% of success and none settled....)

Waiting for any help....

well, let me explain, I've settled some land, the odd is that when I send 6 settlers witha 65-80% probability of success, I expect at least one to succeed!!!
And how can 5200 natives make mincemeat of my 12000 cavalry and 6000 infantry???

Where do I find Conquistadores and leaders? My leaders are almost always 2,2,2!!!!!!

They appear in random/historical events.

The manual is indeed cräp, but if you have any specific questions you can always ask hear.

I actually played the Tutorial.. . which I normally dont even install
It wasnt that half bad :=)

Well but I have a specific Question anyway:
Imagine:
Prussia 1450
After havion' had Wars with nearly everyone arrojnd it Prussia finally settle the Conflicts and add Huge New Lands to his own
Problem: Prussia has to station HUGE Armies at some Places /small Armies everywhereas those States tend to revolute quite often
And I 'm not sure what to do about them, They are teh Same Religion I set My inner Ploticiscs to Decentralization
the only Cause I can see is taht the AI has put uhh dun kno wthe English word: The Channelor? Well teh Guy that raises taxes and Unhappiness..
The Unhappines Percent is ~3%(When the academies will be build in 2 Years)
I think I canceld out every Minus except that Nationality thing? What to do about it?
Help! Prussia needs his Money for Factories not for Soldiers (at least not in a while )

The nationalism-thingy decreases every tenth year. After ten year you'll have 2% unhappiness, after twenty 1%, etc. Nothing you can do about it, it is most annoying, I know.

Yepps, but the rebellions are quite scarce at 1-2%. It's the price of expansion anyway. :P

Btw is there any way to repair my really REALLY messed up reputation? :=)Suddenly all of them have Casus belli.. -200 Rep only fuels my evermarchibng Army

Weeell I think not. I believe that it only increases over time. If you're peaceful for a longer period it'll mend right up.

Nothing to do really but make peace and lie low.

Actually it's not. In the long run the percentages are correct. It's just that the EU engine has a thing with streaks in the random generator... You don't complain when you get positive streaks though...

Well, annexing neighbouring provinces=expansion, no matter how the annexation happened

If you by reputation mean the relations (-200) you can bribe them with money (send gifts). If you mean the reputation (like in "Your reputation is slightly tarnished") there is nothing to do but wait...

There are several ways to improve your BB score. In a game with a normal difficulty setting your reputation will improve one point every four years and it will improve by one point for every provience you release as a vassal. Of course you just spent all that time comquoring the territory so I imagine you don't want to let them go. Military Annexations ruin your reputation so a better way is to force them to be your vassals and diploannex them in 30-40 years. You will only get a small hit on your BB and you will still end up with the same territory.

I'm not sure of EU II but in EU I war weariness also contributes to the chance for revolution. I think if you fight for 5 or 10 years, yopu have more chance for revolutions.

Cheating does nothing but lessen the value of the game. Who wants to play a game where you know you will win and you are just going through the motions?


However cheating against a better opponent in order to make real gains is perfectly justifiable. The "get one over on them*" factor can be satisfying.

* Especially if it is a sibling.

Question:
I have Vassalised One State (saince 60 Years)
Our Connection was pretty bad at all Times (Vassalised in War)
Only one Country (I think)
I send him Presents and now we are at +198 but still I cant offer him to annex Anyone got a Clue why?

Its kinda difficult with only one Diplomat every 3 Months but hey!

Bohemia next... cant remember why I vassalized him first anyways.
Oh and why does teh Emperor always give me tasks that would totally screw my alliances/relations I found it much more pleasing to pause the game when an Taks ends and to choose the 'Hold XX' taks before he alligns me one
'No Colonies of Spain in teh Carribean.. ' Funny Dog neither do I have a Map of that Area nor am I convinced that my 8 Battleships would ever made it intact to that region
*sigh*


Question: After InfraTech 6 what exactly does the Techs do that come after it? Infra 7 and so on I mean?
Oh and will Mercenaries get Arty at some Point?

Well, I usually lose even if I cheat.
Thus it only makes the game more interesting to play.

(Although recently I have begun to figure out how to play EU withouth having EVERY nation declare war on me ) I can't stand to sit and wait to conquer [it is a game...] Therefore I war when I can and accumulate up to 40 or 60 BB ratings
