	How to post statistics Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

I have a semi-important policy dilemma. When the next stats are due to be posted, I have two options to chose from in posting them. Edit the current thread titled "The State of the Nation: Latest Statistics", -OR- create a new thread. Which do you all think is better.

Obviously the pro of editing the current thread is that it could be linked to reach the latest stats. The cons are that there are already 36 replies to it that don't always have to do with the stats. And the fact that apparently you can't edit attachments in a post.

What do you all think? This poll lasts two (2) days.

New thread. The lack of ability to edit attachments means no new graphs! There's no way I'm giving those up, I got so used to them already.

I voted here because it concerns me. Even if im not a citizen ;-) Reduce the amount of the "new thread" votes by 1 if you like to recalculate.

Im pro the new-thread thing because it will be easily found and old posts cant disturb the interpretation. Of course cross-linking of the threads will be needed (chain linking of the new thread to the one before).
And of course direct closure of the obsolete threads to prevent them from jumping on top of the forum again.

Here's an idea: whenever Reddawg starts a new thread he can add a link to the new thread on top of the first post in the old thread. That way even if people follow an outdated link they'll know where to find the latest statistics.

sounds good. just make sure the old threads are closed... it is horrible to see the old ones pop up after months :-(

That's a good idea! He'll be a walking advertisement, like those people who walk around with shirts with the logo of their firm printed on the back, or those people who dress up like hotdogs and walk around in the streets with a sign that says "Willy's Hot Dogs: They're deeelicious!" and always get beaten up...
Come to think about it, Reddawg might not like this idea...

Actually, what'd be the most helpful is if you posted each set of stats in a different thread, and then had one seperate "Index" thread where the top post always contained an up to date index (the rest of the thread could be for generic suggestions).

Reason for that is I'd like to be able to link to all of your posts from the Foreign Ministry Office thread, but right now I'm going to either have to go with the latest or the last two or something... if there was an index thread, then that could be a common starting point, and you could still keep things organized while also posting everything in it's own thread.
